"I'm just saying it would have been nice to know about our holiday plans before the holidays." Maya told her dad as she smiled through the phone.

"I was going to tell you but I wanted things to be set in stone before I got anyone's hopes up. Besides, I didn't know of you would want to come down to Philadelphia or stay up here with the Matthews." Shawn told her.

"That depends on who we're spending the holidays with this year." Maya replied.

"I know that Josh is going back to Philadelphia this year. His parents want to spend the holidays with him before he graduates and heads to California." Maya's heart stopped. California? Nobody ever said anything to her about California.

"What do you mean he's moving to California?" Maya asked as casual as she could. She could still tell however that Shawn was smiling through the phone.

"Josh got a job offer from a friend of his to join the police force down in California. All he has to do is go through six months of police academy training down in Quantico and he'll be able to join." Shawn told her. Maya had to sit down as she started to feel faint.

"W-wow. That's great." Maya said as she clenched her hand up into a fist.

"You okay, kiddo?" Shawn asked her causing Maya to nod her head. "Maya?" That's when Maya realized that Shawn couldn't see her through the phone.

"Yeah! Yeah I'm good. Hey look dad, I got to go and get some last minute school work done. I'll talk to you more about the holidays later." Maya said as she was now in a rush to get off the phone.

"Okay, kiddo. I'll talk to you later." Shawn and Maya said goodbye as Maya threw her phone down on her bed and started to run her hands through her hair. Josh may be moving to California? That was all the way on the other side of the country. Maya grabbed her phone and jacket as she felt like she needed to get our of her dorm for a while.

Maya headed over to Starbucks and got some hot chocolate before sitting down at one of the tables and getting her phone out to try and text Riley. Before she could open her phone someone pulled a chair out from beside her and sat down. Maya looked over and chuckled to herself as she saw a obviously frustrated Lucas.

"How's it going, huckleberry?" She teased as he gave her a look.

"Funny. I assume Riley has told you about what's happened between us recently?" He asked her causing Maya to nod.

"Don't you know by now that Riley tells me everything? Now Lucas I know that when you started dating her that I agreed to share her but thanksgiving and Christmas is very stingy." Maya teased. Lucas glared at her before rubbing his eyes with his hands. "Seriously though, she has a family too, Lucas." Lucas nodded his head as he leaned his head back up to face her.

"Yeah, yeah I know. There's a reason behind me wanting her for both holidays." He informed Maya causing her to nod her head.

"Yeah I figured that. You want to lay them on me?" Lucas didn't say anything for a second before he sighed and nodded his head.

"Riley and I are getting pretty serious." Lucas started out. Maya nodded her head for him to continue. "I just want to make sure she knows that I'm in this for the long run. I want her to be the one I'm with for the rest of my life." Maya's eyes widened.

"Are you going to propose?" She asked him hoping that he would look at her like she was crazy. But he didn't. "Lucas." She said in a low demanding tone.

"Her parents were able to do college and marriage at the same time." He mumbled. No. Freaking. Way.

"You're going to propose!?!" Maya shouted as she stood up from her chair causing people to give them looks.

"Would you shut up!" Lucas demanded as he grabbed her hand and pulled her back down.

"Lucas are you insane! You can't propose to her!" Maya whispered shouted to him.

"And why not?!" He asked he causing her to widen her eyes even more. Maya brought her hand up to the back of his head and smacked him.

"Because I said so!" She shouted at him causing him to let out a snicker. "Besides, you're eighteen, you're in college, and I would have to get a new roommate. I'm not getting a new roommate!" Maya told him. Lucas shook his head.

"They have dorms for married couples. I've already spoken to the dean about this." Lucas said.

"You've already spoken to the dean! What about Riley's parents, have you thought about maybe talking to them!?" Maya asked.

"Maya, stop yelling. You're making a scene." Lucas said as he glanced and smiled at some people who were giving them looks and mumbling something about stupid freshman's.

"Lucas you haven't thought this all the way through." Maya told him as she took a deep breath.

"Yes I have Maya. I love this girl and I want to spend the rest o my life with her." Maya shook her head.

"If you really love her then you'll still feel this way after graduation. When you two can really sit down and plan a wedding and your life. Lucas what happens if you do get married and she ends up becoming pregnant. Do you even realize how hard it would be to take care of a child and do college?" Maya asked seriously. Lucas swallowed hard.

"I mean there is always the possible chance she'll get pregnant now." He said causing Maya to scrunch up her face. "Maya you're her best friend, you know her better than anyone. Do you think she would say yes?" He asked her seriously. Maya stared at him for a second. She could lie about it but that would only make things worse. Maya sighed.

"Yeah. I think she would. And that's exactly why you can't propose." Maya told him. Lucas smiled.

"Sorry Maya. But this isn't about you." And with that Lucas got up and walked away. Maya couldn't believe it. She still didn't understand why Lucas needed two holidays to propose. She had to talk to someone. Someone who would be on her side when it came to Riley. And she knew exactly who she had to go to.
