"Josh! Really you don't need to do this I'm handling it!" Maya told him as they made their way into the dorm house and Josh started to Lucas's room.
"Josh you should listen to Maya. Riley isn't going to listen to anyone unless it's Maya." Farkle said but Josh was ignoring them both as he made his way up to Lucas's door and knocking impatiently.
"Riley may listen to you but Lucas is sure as hell going to listen to me." Maya and Farkle exchanged worried glances as the door opened revealing Lucas. "Are you stupid?" Josh asked as he made his way into the room.
"Common in." Lucas said sarcastically. Maya and Farkle followed and sat on the bed as they watched Josh pace the floor and Lucas stand there with a board expression on his face.
"You can't ask Riley to marry you, you're babies!" Josh exclaimed as he sent a glare Lucas's way.
"You know for someone who says she didn't want to ever speak to Josh again, you two sure are sharing a lot of things." Lucas said as he looked over a Maya. Maya smiled a guilty smile as she scooted closer to Farkle.
"This conversation doesn't concern Maya! This is between you and me." Josh said as he pointed at Lucas.
"So I want to propose. What's the big deal?" Lucas asked as he sat down in his chair.
"What's the big deal?" Josh mocked. "Have you even thought this all the way through? What are you going to do for a place to stay? What happens if she gets pregnant? You two might want to go to separate states for jobs? Have you even thought about how both families are going to react?" Josh kept asking questions making Lucas roll his eyes.
"It's scary how much you two are alike." He said as he looked between Josh and Maya. Josh rolled his eyes.
"Seriously, Lucas. This is a really stupid idea." Josh told him.
"Cory and Topanga did it. They turned out fine." Lucas argued. Josh scoffed.
"You're insinuating that you and Riley can do something just because two other people did it before. Have you even stopped to ask yourself what Cory and Topanga went through? You know what, you should go to Cory and ask him if you can ask Riley to marry you. Then when he's done trying to kill you and Topanga calms him down she can sit you down and tell you that what you're doing is stupid." Josh told him. Lucas shook his head.
"I love Riley and Riley loves me. We want to spend the rest of our lives together." Everyone in the room let our frustrated sighs. "Besides you can't really talk much, Josh. You were engaged just a few weeks ago." Lucas told him.
"How do you think I know it's stupid to be engaged in college? Take it from somebody who knows, Lucas. If the love that you two have for each other is still there in four years when it's after college, that's when you want to go for it. But don't put your relationship and friendship in danger by taking that step too soon." Maya smiled. Josh had always been good at giving advise.
"I think you're all worried because you know that Riley will most likely say yes. If there was ever a doubt in any of your minds that Riley would say yes then y'all wouldn't be here right now."
"Lucas you aren't listening to us right now." Farkle spoke up.
"What if you two met someone else?" Maya asked him seriously. Lucas was about to speak up and say something but Josh beat him to it.
"It happens. You and Riley could meet someone and not give the other one a second glance. Where do you plan on taking her after college?" Josh asked.
"Back to Texas." Lucas stated.
"Does Riley know that?" Maya asked.
"We haven't talked about it." Lucas answered.
"See, right there. You've already planned what you're going to do and you haven't even informed Riley. Relationships work best when you talk about what you're going to do and make the decision together." Farkle chimed in.
"A little piece of advise, Lucas. Talk to Riley before you go proposing. Because if you propose and then tell her all your plans and she decides that's not what she wants to do then that's the end of your relationship." Josh told him. Lucas sighed.
"Look I know you're all concerned about Riley because she's family and your best friend. But I think I know what I'm doing when it comes to this." Lucas said before standing up and leaving the room.
Josh, Maya and Farkle all gave each other worried looks and sighed. They all had tried to talk to him but it was no use. Now all they could do was hope that he or Riley one would come to their senses.
"This is my room!" Lucas suddenly shouted as he came back into the room. Josh huffed before he walked out. Farkle and Maya slowly stood up and followed him out before Lucas shut the door.
"What now?" Farkle asked. Josh shrugged his shoulders.
"We just got to hope that that whatever happens, happens in their favor and that it's the best for the both of them." Josh replied.
They all sighed before heading out of the dorm house.
