Maya smiled as she held the little bundle in her arms. Wrapped in a blue blanker and holding her pinky finger in his tiny little hand, was Maya's new little brother, Chet Hunter. Named after Shawn's father.

"He's so tiny." Maya gazed at him as Katy and Shawn sat on the couch of their living room.

"You both have the same eyes." Katy spoke from her position in Shawn's arms on the couch. Katy had gone into labor and had the baby just a few days ago. Maya hadn't been able to get up to the hospital because of exams. But it was finally the weekend and Katy had been given the okay to head home.

Maya was now staying the weekend with them and getting to know her new little brother. She smiled as she realized that her mother was right. Maya and Chet both had the same shape and eye color.

"We wish you could have been there. It was one of the best moments of our lives." Shawn said. Maya grinned as she swayed the little baby in her arms.

"He's beautiful." She whispered. Maya had only known this baby for just a few short hours, and she was already feeling protective over him. Like she would do anything to make sure he didnt have the kind of life or childhood that she had. Even though she knew Shawn would never let that happen.

Everything with her dad had been weighing on her mind ever since he had come and told her his news last week. Ever since, Maya hadn't talked to anyone about it. She ignored everyone that tried to talk to her. The only person that she would even look at was Riley. She hadn't even told Riley what had happened with her father even though she had been asking Maya everyday since.

That was another reason that she had come home for the weekend. She wanted to talk to Shawn and Katy about what happened. She wanted to know what to do. She needed her mother and father. Her real father. And no matter what Kermit did, Shawn would always be her real dad.

In a way, Maya couldn't help but feel a little jealous over the fact that this baby really did have Shawn as a father. But it went away when she thought about how this child would never have to go through the things that she did. He would never have to worry about his father dropping in every once in a while just to make things even more complicated than what they were.

"I really would like to talk to you both." Maya looked up at them. Shawn and Katy both shared a look, seeming to know exactly what it was. "Kermit stopped by my dorm last week." She told them. She sat down in the chair across from the couch with the baby still in her arms.

"Are you mad?" Shawn asked her. Maya sighed.

"I really want to be." She admitted. "But more than ever I'm just confused. I know he asked you not to, but why couldn't you have just warned me that he might be coming to my dorm?" She asked him. Shawn sighed as Katy laid a hand on his shoulder.

"Maya what your dad did to you was inexcusable. And you know I would rather die then to let something like that happen to you again. When he called me and told me that he wanted to see you. Katy and I both wanted to know what the reason was before we just gave him your information. When he told us, we both felt like you had the right to know. And it wouldn't be right for us to keep this from you. I know because when my father was in and out of my life, I hated him. But if he had died and someone hadn't told me or warned me, I would have hated the person who knew and didnt tell me. There were a lot of things that I wanted to tell my father, and I got that chance. When I told him everything about how I felt, about what he did to me growing up, its like everything fell into place for me. And a part of me may have never been able to forgive him for leaving, but I was able to forgive myself."

"We thought it was best not to tell you that he was coming because we knew how you would react. And we couldn't tell you what was going on, it was better that it came from him. It also gives you a chance to tell him everything you've ever wanted to say to him before his cancer starts to take effect. Imagine what you might feel like years from now if you never got the chance to tell him how you truly felt, how he made you truly feel. Dont do it for his peace of mind, do it for you, Maya."

Maya listened to Shawn and her mother while she stared at the ground. She had tried to tell him and do this whole forgiveness thing back in middle school. It didnt work then, she doubted it would work now. She looked up at them and shook her head.

"I dont have anything to say to him. Everything I ever wanted to say to him walked out the front door as soon as he did."

Shawn took a deep breath and looked down as Katy smiled sadly at her daughter.

"Well just think about it. Nobody would blame you if you didnt. Maya, we just dont want you waking up ten years from now and wishing that you had the chance to go back in time." Katy spoke softly. Maya nodded at her parents.

"I'll think about it." She promised.

Josh leaned against the wall of his dorm room as Riley sat on his bed. He rubbed his face with his hands as he took deep breaths.

"And she still wont tell you what happened?" He asked. Riley shook her head.

"I'm really worried about her, Josh. She really hasn't been herself ever since his visit. I ask her and she changes the subject. She's ignoring everyone. Simon came to our dorm a couple of days ago to talk to her about something but she blew him off and told him that she had a lot of studying to do. She barley comes out of her dorm unless its for class or to shower."

"Where is she now?" Josh asked.

"She went home for the weekend to spend time with her parents and the new baby." Riley responded as she got up from the bed and walked closer to Josh.

"Maybe I can call Shawn and ask him." Josh mumbled more to himself.

"Josh? May I suggest something?" Riley said. Josh looked up over at her. "Out of everyone that Maya knows and is friends with, and this includes me. You two have been able to connect on such a deeper level then what we have. And I'm not talking about romance. You two have been able to sit down and have the best conversations no matter what it was about or where you were. Maya is really hurting right now. Maybe she doesnt need a boyfriend right now, but maybe she needs a really good friend that she can have those conversations with again."

"Riley she wont even talk to me." Josh told her. Riley shrugged her shoulders.

"That's because her "Someday Josh" Is talking to her." She said doing finger motions for 'someday Josh'. "But not her friend Josh. Try finding that Josh." Riley laid a hand on his shoulder and squeezed before she turned around and walked out the door.
