"Why didn't you tell me?"
"I didn't think it mattered," mom says innocently.
"Of course it matters! You know all these people! Their histories, their good qualities, the bad things they've done!" now i was just rambling. "Were you ever gonna tell me? Or let me live the rest of my life."
"Oh Y/N," she pulled me into a hug. "I just wanted to leave the past behind. Start fresh."
I pull out of the hug and put on a fake smile before going up to my room to stress-unpack. I run up the stairs and try my best not to slam by door shut. As I sit on my bare bed in my empty room, i put my head in my hands and start to think things over. I decide that isn't working so i start to pace back and forth. I look down at my phone, which I've been gripping a little to hard to see a text from someone i would have never expected.
You ok? Read the text from a familiar red headed boy next door.
"How did he-" I started to say out loud before i realize my big bay window is wide open and Archie is looking worriedly out of his own. I give him a nod and a small smile and look down at my phone to text him back.
Yeah, I guess it turns out Cheryl Blossom isn't the only one in this town who has secrets :/
Aw that sucks. You wanna talk about it?
No that's ok. Thanks though :)
I smile at him once more before reaching down and starting to unpack my boxes.
2 hours later...
I look down at my blue digital clock. Crap! I think. The fluorescent blue lights read 2:30 am. Before hopping into bed, i look around at my clean room all neat and organized and color coded. Like an ad straight out of a Pottery Barn magazine. Won't stay that way for long. I turn off my lights and get under my many fluffy blankets before dozing off into a deep, much needed sleep.
BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEp B-
I slam my hand on my alarm to shut that darn thing up. Is it already 6? It felt like I had been sleeping for 5 minutes. I get out of bed, still groggy from going to bed so late and pull on a pair of ripped jeans, a camo green tank top and my favorite pair of hi-top black converse. I pull my hair into a high ponytail and throw my glasses onto my face before walking like a snail down to the kitchen.
Great. Oatmeal and an apple. I mumble a thanks to my mom before scooping up a spoonful of sludge. Just before i could shove the disgusting goop into my mouth, someone knocks on the front door.
"I'll get it!" I say a little too quickly as i drop my spoon back into the bowl and rush to the door. When I open the door, Archie and Betty greet me with tired but happy faces. "Thank goodness," I say to them with a smile. "Bye mom! See you later!" I grab my bag and close the door behind me as I head to school my my new friends.
"Let's give Y/N a tour!" Betty says to Archie.
"Yeah why not! Better than going to classes."
"Sounds good!" I reply.
Betty walks around talking about the history of the school; how long it has been open, who the principals were, etc. Finally, lunch comes around. Suddenly my phone starts buzzing in my pocket.
"Hey can we talk?" Mom says from the other end of the line.
"Yeah I guess." I say still annoyed at her.
"Look honey, I don't know what to say. I'm so sorry I didn't tell you earlier. I just had a bad past with some of the people here and I thought leaving for a while would make it better. If you want I can tell you everything over a milkshake at Pops for dinner."
"Make that a milkshake and onion rings and I'm in."
"Agreed"
I hang up the phone with a small smile on my face glad that the problem is finally solved. I sit back down at the table with my new friends who act as if I've known them all along. Everything is great. Juuuuust great
Until...
"Well who is this? A new addition to the scooby gang?" A girl with bright red hair and cherry red lipstick is standing over us.
"What do you want Cheryl." Veronica says with quite a bit of salt.
"Yeah no need to corrupt the newbie Cheryl" Archie retorts.
"Oh calm down. I just came to say hello!" She says innocently, but kind of creepily.
Sick to my stomach but not wanting to get in her bad side, I hold out my hand to her. "Hi I'm Y/N."
"Cheryl Blossom. Feel free to follow me on twitter! My handle is @cheryl_bombshell"
"Well ok then."
"Well my work here is done. Ladies you know what to do." Cheryl says referring to Veronica and Betty before walking away.
"Oh yeah. It's totally up to you but we are both on the cheerleading squad and it's a lot of fun!" Betty says.
"Thanks, but no thanks. I'm not a huge 'Rah Rah' type of girl."
Jughead and Archie chuckle.
"Whatever girl, you do you." Veronica says.
As we continue to eat our lunch, I think about how many memories I will make with these wonderful people in the years to come.
A/N: Hello! I think I'm either gonna take a break from this story thing or end it here cause I am out of ideas and I wanna write more/different oneshots/short stories. I think my next one shot gonna be something like a throwback to their childhood or something. Idk. I take any suggestions!
