A double date... for 8?

Betty and her best friend, Veronica stroll through the streets of Riverdale one brisk Sunday morning.

"Oh, how I love winter break!" Betty exclaims, a look of sheer glee coming over her rosy cheeks.

"As much as I love 2 weeks away from Wetherbee, it's freezing! I don't remember the walk to Pop's being this long!" Veronica remarks, pulling her expensive fur coat further around her pale skin.

"Almost there, I promise." Betty smiles at her friend as they found the corner and the neon sign comes into sight.

"I can't believe we haven't had a double date yet." Veronica says in disbelief.

Betty laughs and they walk into the neon lit diner, looking around to find Jughead and Archie.

"Looks like we beat them here!"

"Good morning girls," Pop greets them with a warm smile. "Archie called to reserve a booth this morning so you can follow me."

He leads them towards the back of the diner to the large booths and the girls give each other a confused look.

"Have fun ladies! Let me know if you need anything!" He walks back to the kitchen, leaving the girls to the monstrosity of a booth, usually meant for parties.

"Maybe they wanted extra space for all Juggy's food?" Betty asks in a hopeful manner.

The small bell on the door rings, and a familiar redhead walks in.

"What is she doing here?" Veronica asks.

"Hello ladies," Cheryl says. "Am I early?"

"Early to what?" Betty asks.

The bell rings once more, and in comes Riverdale's brawn with no brain, Reggie Mantle, arm sling over the shoulder of none other than Josie McCoy.

"Let's get this party started!" Reggie yells, getting a few eye rolls from surrounding families in the diner.

"What is going on?" Veronica looks even more confused as Kevin Keller follows the pair inside.

Finally Jughead and Archie walk in, laughing about who knows what.

"You boys have some explaining to do." Says a not very happy Veronica.

Jughead pats Archie on the back before sliding into the booth next to Betty. "All you, buddy."

"Wha- ok fine..." Archie laughs nervously. "Well, ya said you wanted to go on a double date 'cause you wanted to interact with other couples for once..."

"Yeah..." Veronica says tapping her foot impatiently.

"And since you said couples, I figured I could invite more of them!"

Jughead facepalms as Veronica steps closer to Archie.

"These aren't even couples!"

"Well, Reggie and Josie are kind of On again off again, so I would consider them a couple, and Cheryl and Kevin are the life of the party and if either of them weren't gay, they would definitely be a power couple!"

Jughead facepalms once more.

"Oh boy..." Veronica says.

"Sorry?" Archie chuckles.

"Just get in the booth I guess, since you're all here." Veronica gives up.

"That's the spirit!" Cheryl smiles.

They all slide in the booth and Pop brings them their regulars.

I guess you could call it: A Double Date... for 8?
