Flashback to the '80s

"Oh come on Alice, you have to tell him!" Forsythe Pemberton Jones begs while walking to their next class with Alice Smith.

"No way FP!" Alice almost yells before turning beet red. "Hal and I just started dating! I don't need to tell him all my secrets."

"And boy you have a lot." FP says with smile.

"Hey!" Alice punched him in the arm, smiling back.

"I mean we are serpents after all. Nothing to be ashamed of." He plops his books down on his desk and swings his feet up onto the desk. "See, look. No one is judging me!" He rolls up his sleeves revealing his snake tattoo. Alice pulls her usual long sleeved shirt down over her hands.

"Honestly, Alice." Hermione (make up a last name) sits down next to Alice. "I don't see why you hang out with this thug. Alice gets flustered.

"C'mon Hermione, you know he's like my brother."

"Yeah... That's one way of putting it..." FP smirks.

"What?" Hermione questions.

"Alright class! Pull out your textbooks and a piece of paper. Let's begin!" He cuts Hermione off. Alice lets out a long sigh of relief.

Ringggggg, Ringggggg, Ringggggg

The clock finally struck 3 and the halls were flooded with students squeezing their way out the front doors of Riverdale High. Alice had stopped by her locker.

"Hey there!"

"Oh hey Hal!" Hal Cooper was Alice's boyfriend. They had just started dating about a month earlier.

"Walk to Pop's with me? The whole gang is meeting up."

"Sure! I don't see why not. I have to be home by 7 o'clock sharp. My mom would kill me if i was even a minute late."

Hal laughed and they strolled down the almost empty hallway.

Once they arrive at Pops, they see FP, Hermione, Fred Andrews, and Mary sitting in the booth waiting for them.

"Hey everyone!" Alice says sliding in next to FP and Hal. Fred puts his arm around Hermione and Mary glares at them jealously

He doesn't seem to notice.

Pop comes over and hands them their regulars.

"Thanks Pop!" Mary says before snatching one last good look at the couple next to her, watching as they smile goofily at each other. She rolls her eyes one last time. In an attempt to break the tension between the group, Hal pipes up.

"So who are you all taking to homecoming?" Mainly talking to FP and Mary.

"I was thinking I might ask Gladys!" FP says. I've had my eye on her for a while.

"Ooh!" Alice says with a chuckle.

"What about you Mary?"

"I don't know if I'm even gonna go." She mumbles before stealing one last helpless glance at Fred.

"Oh you have to get over that." Alice says.

"Get over what?" Mary says nervously.

"Oh you know." Fp says motioning over to the couple who had somehow managed to switch over to the counter.

"You know," Alice whispers. "I hear they've been going through a rough patch lately.

"Really?" Mary says hopefully.
