Misunderstood

Cheryl Blossom. The typical mean girl. Always dealing insults and shaming people. Hair like fire, lips like blood, soul like ice. Or so they all thought. No one knows what she is really made of.

Everyone knows Cheryl lost her brother. Her and Jason always had a special bond. Inseparable. Until Polly Cooper happened. They were in love. She stole him from her. The only person who truly understood Cheryl was snatched right out of her hands.

That's why Cheryl HATES Polly. This means she also hates Betty. Betty is the closest Cheryl can get to dear Pollykins now that she has been taken to the "loony bin" as Cheryl refers to it as.

But that's why she's so mean right? Just because her brother got a girlfriend? That's all anyone knows. That's the single story they all have placed into their small minded brains. The stereotype. The label. Mean Girl. Mean Girl. Mean Girl.

Truth is, Cheryl has her reasons. No one realizes that she's no evil. Her heart isn't made of ice. She's misunderstood.

Abused. Disliked.

Misunderstood.

Mean. Cruel.

Misunderstood.

The only people who seemed to see that was Veronica, Archie, and sometimes Betty.

Father killed her brother.

Mother didn't care.

Father dealing drugs.

Mother didn't care.

Brother tried to run.

Father wouldn't let him go.

Cheryl.

Left alone.

No one liked her. No one cared. To ask her if she was really scared.

Her family a mess.

Her house is gone.

So ask yourself.

Does she have a reason?

Is she really mean? Cruel? Evil?

Or is she just misunderstood.

Maybe take the time.

Get to know her a bit.

You might be surprised.

Cheryl might be nice. Caring. Understanding. Giving. She might even love you. All you have to do is give her a chance and take the time to see behind the person.

Don't give stereotypes. Don't judge. Take that story out of your head. Create space for a new one.

You might not like her even and and that's fine. But give her a chance.

Please.

A/N: honestly guys, this is why I love Riverdale. It shows that there are reasons why people are mean. Reasons why the take their anger out on others. Tells you not to place stereotypes and just get to know someone before making assumptions. I hope you liked this one! It was fun to write. I really like Cheryl (and Madelane) cause she has so much baggage and her character is constantly changing and I think that's really cool.
