Harry and I sprinted across the campus to the Youth Wing, ignoring the disturbed looks we were getting from the people we were passing. Luckily we were running too fast that if someone did recognize Harry, we would never know because we would already be too far away from them to have questions asked.

When we reached the Youth Wing, I placed my thumb on the scanner like a reflex to let me in. Only the scanner wasn't there anymore.

"What the..." I trailed off.

The thumb print scanner was replaced with some horizontal laser looking thing. It honestly looked like the barcode scanner you see at the grocery store.

Wait a minute...

Bar code.

Ryan's tattoo was not a random drunken mistake like he made it out to be. It was specifically made and placed on his wrist to grant him access to the Youth Wing, which has now become exclusive under my father's command.

For them to go this big and change all the access points into this wing troubled me to the core as I thought there might be a bigger problem than just being in charge of kids 18 and younger.

"What do we do now?" Harry asked.

I peered through the glass door. It seemed that nobody was around to let me in. I had to get in there though. I couldn't walk away from this.

I pulled my gun out of my book bag and and unclipped the safety. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Harry visibly gulp. Was he thinking the same thing I was? Was I gonna possibly shoot my own father? Am I even capable of that?

"Alright, listen to me Harry." I said sternly and shoved my cell phone into his hand. "I need you to stay out here and call Monique. Tell her everything we know and tell her to get her butt down here immediately. Her plane back from Ireland should have landed an hour ago. Stay out here okay?"

"You can't go in there alone." Harry argued.

"Harry." I said through clenched teeth. I knew I was running out of time and that if I was not already noticed by them from the security cameras, my time was shortly coming. "Don't fight me on this. Just do it. Okay?"

Harry reluctantly nodded and took a step backwards. Taking a deep breath, I turned back towards the glass door and shot a bullet through the bottom. The glass inevitably shattered around the bullet hole looking like silver sparkles. I kicked down other remnants of glass blocking my way and ducked underneath it after giving Harry one last nod.

The department wing was a lot more quieter than I could remember. Before, kids would be here all the time but now this place was just like like a vacant office space. No one was seated at the front desk, office doors were opened wide with no one in them, and the usual non stop ringing phone was dead silent.

I walked down the end of the hall where my Grandad's office is. I stood in front of the door and froze in my sport, hesitating to walk in. Once I walk through those doors, that was it. No more Ryan as a best fiend and probably no more job.

Before I could make my move and kick down the door, I heard movement behind me, stopping me in my tracks. I waited still for a couple of seconds until the movement grew closer and closer. When it was close enough to me, I whipped around on my feet and tackled the person to the ground.

I was leaning over Kelsey Zorzini with her back to the floor. Her shoulder length blonde hair was spread out around her head and her lips were twisted in a snarl. She didn't look happy at all to see me. Like I had ruined her plans and made her life a tad bit more complicated.
