A/N: Sorry if this chapter is poorly written. I'm just finishing up finals and my brain feels fried. Almost done! Thinking about a sequel but not sure. Gotta get all my thoughts together(: enjoy!
The next morning, I'm up and ready to leave for the agency by 5:15 despite not having to be there until 8. I didn't sleep a wink last night. My mind was racing with all the possibilities of who my grandad left in charge. His pick could make or break this company, but I trusted his decision otherwise he would have chosen my dad, his offspring, to take over. And he didn't. And somehow Dad knew that which is why he wanted to get to the will in the first place.
I left Harry in my bed and paced in my living room, sipping on my second cup of coffee. My finger traced over the thumb print engraved on the ring my grandad gave me. I thought about how much easier life would be if he was just here. And if he was here, he would have been able to meet Harry and I knew he would have fallen in love with him.
My cheek tickles as a tear runs down my face and I'm quick to brush it away when I hear footsteps enter the room.
Harry leaned against the counter, looking good in only sweats and no shirt. He watches me, not even having to ask if I was okay, but not making any sudden movement to have me talk about it or cry it out. Nothing was going to make the time move any faster and that's all I wanted. Just to have this over with.
"You look beautiful." Harry said.
I look down at my black dress. It was simple and long, cutting off right above my knee. I figured if this was a business meeting, I should dress like it and substitute the jeans.
"Thanks," I sniffled. "Did I wake you?"
Harry shook his head, "No. I turned over and you weren't there. I wanted to make sure everything was okay."
"Just a lot on my mind," I shrugged.
"I bet," Harry walked over to me and wrapped his arms around my waist. He pulled me towards his chest and kissed the top of my head. "I'm sure whoever your grandfather picked will be the right decision."
"I hope so," I wanted to change the subject, hoping a change in topic would ease my nerves by distraction. "What are your plans for the day?"
Because opening my Grandad's will was too formal and S.O.A oriented, Harry wasn't allowed to come and accompany me despite how much he wanted to. When I said he couldn't come last night, he looked hurt but when I explained that even Louis wasn't allowed to come, he understood.
"The boys and I have a meeting with our tour manager to go over a couple of things for the start of our Take Me Home tour in a couple of months." He says.
I mentally face palm myself and silently curse myself out. Selfishly, I've only been thinking about my own shit I have going on and completely forgot about the release of One Direction's album which will lead to a tour a couple months later.
"Oh my god Harry," I sigh loudly, making it obvious how disappointed I was in myself. I felt like an awful girlfriend, which doubles for an awful sister. "I'm so sorry. I completely forgot - "
Harry approaches me and cuts me off with a chaste kiss to the lips. I close my eyes and drink in this moment. How did I find someone so perfect? Was he not mad? His patience with me is one in a million. Literally. Ryan used to tell me it was gonna take decades for me to find a guy that could put up with me the way that he does...did.
"Don't you dare apologize. It's not like you forgot because you weren't paying attention."
That's exactly why I forgot. I wanted to say.
