(Tabitha Fell POV)

I woke up to my alarm clock ringing and immediately got up to go on my morning run. I got back with just enough time to fix my parents and I breakfast before grabbing my stuff and hopping in my car for school.

It wasn't surprising that the first person I ran into after parking was my old friend, Caroline Forbes. Of course, I didn't run into Caroline, Caroline practically tackled me out on the front lawn, "Tabby!"

"Hey Care! Let's try not to get my new dress dirty please. I worked very hard on it."

She released me from her suffocating hug, scoffing, "Oh please, you would still look fabulous even with a little dirt on your gorgeous dress. So, how was you summer?"

I began walking with her in the school building, "Pretty difficult, I mean handling the three jobs I currently have and a summer job was brutal. I'm surprised to even be standing right now. You? How was your summer?"

"Incredible! I got to spend the entire summer with my dad and his boyfriend. Get this, dad's new boyfriend also has a daughter and she is almost as amazing as you."

My eyes widened, not often hearing genuine compliments come from the diva, "Really? Wow, that's awesome Care. But I just want to know why she falls just short of being as awesome as me?"

Caroline grinned, "Well, she doesn't know how to sew her own fabulous clothes. Hey I was wondering if you could sew me a new scarf for Thanksgiving."

I chuckled, "Sure, it'll be your early Christmas gift."

The head cheerleader once again wrapped her arms around my neck, "Oh thank you, Tabs! You're the best!"

To which I responded, "I know. So are you Care."

"Aw thanks." Suddenly her eyes locked on someone and I turned to look and saw Elena and Bonnie. We made a beeline for them as Caroline attached herself to Elena and I tried to hold in a laugh as she began suffocating Elena in one of her famous hugs, "Elena. Oh, my god. How are you? Oh, it's so good to see you." She then turned to look at Bonnie after releasing Elena, "How is she? Is she good?"

However Elena answered for herself, "Caroline, I'm right here. And I'm fine. Thank you."

I came up and placed a hand on her shoulder, studying her eyes, "Really?" Elena lost her parents in a car accident on Wickery Bridge. Elena was also in the car, but she was the only one to survive, ever since then both she and her brother, Jeremy, have been different; distant.

She nodded, taking my hand off her shoulder, "Yes, Tabitha. I'm much better."

I knew that she was lying, but before I could give an appropriate response Caroline dove in to give her another hug, "Oh, you poor thing."

Elena nearly pushed Caroline off of her, "Okay, Caroline."

Caroline then fixed hair and took off down the hallway, "Oh! Ok, see you guys later?"

Bonnie called after her, "OK! Bye!"

I chuckled, "So Elena, if you aren't all hugged out, can I have one?"

She gave a small genuine smile, holding out her arms, "Of course."

I gave her a hug before turning to Bonnie, "You too, Bonnie. Bring it in."

After giving both of them a hug, I decided to take my leave, "Oh I missed you guys. See you in class?"

Both nodded, "Yeah." "See ya later, Tabby."

I walked away and came to my assigned locker, taking several deep breaths to clear my head. Suddenly my phone rang and I looked at the CallerID; Grammie. I smiled, answering, "Hey Grammie."
