After a day of allegedly informative, but in all actuality, quite boring orientation lectures on the dangers of drugs and alcohol abuse it was finally time for the fun to begin. I talked to Joshua for a bit on the phone, he'd probably been even more bored than I was. He told me he was hitting up some bar in downtown Coco Beach. I wished him the best. Maybe he'd meet a hot Floridian model there and they'd live happily ever after.

A guy can dream, right?

It was a bit after ten and Haley, Erika, and I were in the communal bathroom on the 4th floor of Mercurius, huddled in front of the mirror and fighting for space. We had about thirty minutes left to get ready before we would meet up with Kendra. To say it was a struggle would be an understatement. I swore if one more girl accidentally elbowed me in the eye we would be fighting.

Erika was going at her hair with a flat iron while Haley was scrunching away at her curls, attempting to get them as perfect as possible. I was half heartedly attempting to apply some black eyeliner around my eyes.

I was never one to wear makeup before but I felt like I should do something at the very least. This was supposed to be a big night. I was going to a college party. My heart skipped at the thought. Me? At a college party.

Dear God, help me.

I even had Erika bump my bang so it swept across my face. After applying my eyeliner I was positive I looked like a raccoon but Haley convinced me that I looked hot.

"I would totally sleep with you if I were a boy, ." She was now applying eyeliner to her own eyes. Unsurprisingly enough, it looked great on her, really bringing out the shape of her eyes.

I laughed, a bit confused by her compliment. "Thanks?" I don't know how I felt about the fact that she would sleep with me. Flattered? Yes. A little uncomfortable? Definitely.

Deciding that she'd put her poor hair through enough, Erika unplugged her flat iron. "So what do you guys think of Kendra?"

Random?

"That hoebag," Haley said giving her hair a few more quick scrunches before packing up her many beauty supplies.

"Haley!" I exclaimed. I couldn't believe she said that.

She rolled her eyes at me. "I'm just kidding. I love her, she's a doll."

Erika didn't say anything as she led the way back to her room. Her roommate wasn't there luckily. I'd gotten the chance to meet her and thought she actually wasn't that bad, but Erika had dramatically declared that she went to high school with the girl, Keisha, and that she really was a bitch.

I shrugged. I honestly couldn't care less. I wasn't the one living with her for the weekend.

"I effing hate that there are no wall mirrors in the stupid rooms." Erika grumbled as she collapsed into the computer chair and spun around once.

"They're like jail cells," Haley said disdainfully. "But honestly compared to some of the dorms I saw at other schools these are by far the best."

"What time are we supposed to head over to Terra?" I asked, not really wanting to get into another discussion on how much dorms suck.

"Ooh, somebody can't wait to get out there and throw that ass in a circle one time." Haley started poking me on the shoulder and wiggling her eyebrows.

That couldn't be further from the truth but I nodded anyway. "We can't be out too long or else we'll get caught."

"Okay, Negative Nancy," Erika said pulling out a mini mirror and unnecessarily reapplying her lipstick. "We're not getting caught."
