Demi

It was so good to be home, tucking my children into bed with Nick, then heading to our bedroom, hand in hand. I was being a little quiet, mostly because I was exhausted, but also because of the conversation I had with Maddie on the way home from the airport. She was the one who picked me up. The conversation had my brain going a mile a minute.

*Flashback

After hugging Maddie in the airport for minutes, we got my bags & went to the car. She was asking me how my promotions were going, then started talking about how cute the twins were.

"Did you see them a lot while I was gone?" I asked her as I buckled my seat belt.

"Frankie & I went with Nick & the kids to the park down the street from your house this morning. They love it there." Maddie was smiling, as she pulled out of the parking space.

"Yea, we hadn't had a chance to go yet. I'm glad he finally took them. It's so close & looks really nice." I leaned my head back. I was so tired, I could fall asleep on the drive home.

"It is nice & now it's going to be crowded because of the DILF in the neighborhood." Maddie let out a giggle.

I looked at her, confused. "DILF?"

Maddie glanced at me. "Yea, Nick is a total DILF now. Well, not to me, he's my brother in law, so that would be gross...." She made a face like she tasted something bad. "But the women in the neighborhood are all over him."

I sat up straight. "Excuse me?"

"I guess I should say they want to be all over him." Maddie glanced at me & when she saw my expression, she laughed. "Don't freak out. Nick wasn't doing much to cause them to want to be all over him. He's just a hot dad."

"Madison. What are you talking about?"

Maddie rolled her eyes & sighed. "Okay, there were like fifteen women at the park this morning & I swear to God, I am not exaggerating when I say, every single one of them was staring at him like he was a male dancer. It was hilarious." Maddie laughed out loud, but I wasn't finding her story funny at all. She saw me looking at her with an irritated expression on her face. "Nick didn't flirt too much. He was a good boy." She snickered.

"What do you mean he didn't flirt too much?"

"Well there is this one girl, Alex, who is the nanny for the family that lives diagonal to you & she was on him like white on rice. She was batting her lashes & laughing at everything he said & showing a lot of cleavage." Maddie's eyes were wide as she grinned out the window.

Now I was angry. I wasn't even sure what I was angry about. "Nick was flirting with her?"

Maddie shrugged her shoulders. "I mean, he was being nice. I wouldn't exactly call it flirting. He was being Nick. You know... cordial..... polite.... sweet.... but I think Alex mistook it for flirting. She offered to babysit anytime you guys needed. She also is going to school for massage therapy & said she would massage him for free to practice." Maddie used air quotes with one hand when she said 'practice.'

I took a deep breath. "And Nick's response was?"

Maddie started laughing. "It was priceless, actually. He said if I let you massage me, I'd never get off the table alive. My wife would kill me."

I smiled at that. "Damn right."

"Frankie & I laughed hard at that. Alex just smiled & kept flirting until Nick said it was time to go. I think he was just really uncomfortable."
