I wasn't excited about going out for New Year's eve. I was never a big partier, but I wanted my sister to have a fun night since it meant so much to her. She wasn't going to drink because of me, but I convinced her to have fun. She wasn't in recovery & she didn't have a problem with alcohol or addiction. I wanted her to enjoy herself so I could live vicariously through her.

The limo picked Nick & I up at 6. Frankie & Maddie, as well as Blanda, Joe, Kevin & Dani were already in the car. We still had to go get Olivia & Wilmer, Paris & Greg, Lola & John & Dallas & Rob. We had reservations for dinner at 7:15. After we were all in the limo, on our way to the restaurant, I felt better about going out. I was starting to feel alive again as Nick kept his arm around me in the limo. I needed this. I needed to celebrate with my friends & family. I looked around the limo at all the people I was so grateful for. Almost all of us were parents, except for Maddie & Frankie & I prayed they waited a long time before they had kids. Paris & Greg had two sons, now. Deacon was 7 & Tristan was 2. John & Lola's son, John was 6 & their daughter, Ivy turned 1 last year. Olivia was pregnant again, due later in the summer. It was hard to look at her growing belly & not be sad, but I did my best. She told me she was pregnant just a few weeks before I lost Delaney. Yes, I was thankful that I had all of these people in my life. I never wanted to imagine my life without any of them.

I ended up having a fun night. Nick was so cute, just before midnight, when he started dancing with me, when one of his favorite songs came on. We were in the VIP room with everyone, so we were standing against a wall, when the song began. His face lit up & I smiled, remembering when he would sing it to me many years ago. It was before I shattered his heart into a million pieces & I think the song actually had more meaning to him, because he felt like we were drifting apart at the time, before we actually broke up. The song was called "Back to Love" by DJ Pauly D & Jay Sean.

I watched Nick, carefully when the words started & I mouthed them, smiling, flirtatiously. "Can you feel it? Oh that space in between us...I miss you just a little too much." Nick grinned, keeping his hands around my waist. I moved my hips, smiling, as Nick's gaze was fixated on them. His eyes met mine again, my body making some sexy moves. "We had it all but let it burn to the ground. But maybe we can turn around & get back because right now I'm off track. I'm looking for a way back to love. I need you now. I'm feenin' for your touch. Come back to love." I sung into his ear, knowing I was turning him on. As the tempo picked up, I took a step back, holding his hands. Nick licked his lips, pulling me back to him, now singing along to the song himself as he moved his hips against me. My hands went to his hair as I stared into his eyes. I felt my body craving him, wanting him, desiring him. As I let my fingers play in his hair, I gave him a sexy smile. I felt this overwhelming urge to kiss him, so my lips played on his. I let my tongue have fun & my teeth nibble on his bottom lip. I forgot how good he tasted. I had kissed him in the last two months, but not like this. I felt his hands on the small of my back, his pinky brushing my ass, slightly. It sent chills throughout my body. My sex drive was back & I was pretty sure Nick knew this. When the song ended, I pressed my cheek against Nick's & saw Joe pointing his phone at us.

"Joseph! Were you recording us?" I shouted at him. Blanda smacked his arm, playfully. Everyone was watching us with big smiles on their faces.

"I was just excited to see you guys looking so happy together." Joe explained, grinning. "Care if I post it?"

I looked at Nick. "Do you care?" He shook his head. "Go ahead, I guess." I said to Joe.

"Hey. Does anyone have any objections to leaving shortly after midnight?" Nick asked in a loud voice to the room of our friends. Everyone shook their heads, making us laugh. We were all so old.
