"So Y/N, how's Grayson doing these days?" My dad asks without taking his eyes off the iPad in front of him. I stare into space with a nervous face, remembering I forgot to tell my parents that we had broken up. Because what teenager doesn't forget to tell their parents they've gotten their heart broken? "Um he's good." I play with the scrambled eggs in my plate, hoping they don't pick up my lie. Both my parents were in such a hurry right now, it just isn't the time. "That's good sweetie. I was thinking we should have the Dolans over for dinner soon, don't you think so?" My Mom says scraping the remainder of the eggs on my little brothers plate. "Um yea that'd be fun." My Mom hums in response. "By the way, I have a company dinner tonight so do you mind watching Finn tonight?" I look up from my plate, remembering Ricky Dalsonto's party tonight. But after the big show Grayson put on last night, I don't plan at showing my face at a party any time soon. "Yea I can watch him."That night
_________________________________I quietly shut Finn's bedroom door, careful not to wake him up. I creep down the stairs, anxious to start the new season premiere of Riverdale now that the baby was asleep. I sit down with a bowl of ice cream and cover my body with a warm blanket, ready to settle in for the night. Just as the commercials end, and the show is beginning, a loud knock comes from the door. I quickly shoot up, knowing if the knocking continued, Finn would wake up, and no one on the block would be getting sleep tonight. The banging continues as I race to the door, swinging it open to yell at whoever was at my house at 10:00 at night. "Y/N! It's you!" An obviously drunk Grayson stands in my doorstep yelling and slurring his words. "Shhhh, Finn is trying to sleep." I scold in a whisper yell. "Finn? I love the little guy. Let's go see him!" He tries to move past me and into my house it I stop him. "Grayson why are you here? Drunk?" He leans against the door frame support.
"Oh! Well when I walked into Ricky's party and didn't see you, I looked for you foreeeeeevvveeeerrrrr and then I waited by the door for you but you never came. Then I got bored and went upstairs with Callie Thomas, if you know what I mean." He lets out a loud obnoxious laugh. "But then I remembered I was looking for you. So I decided to come here." He has a proud smile on his face thinking he did the right thing. I laughs under my breathe. This is so something he would do. "Y/N? I want us to be together again. Really, really bad." He says putting his hands in my shoulders and drawing light circles with his thumbs. "Gray you need to go home." I take his hands off my shoulders and push him towards the door. "Y/N please I miss you. So much more then I thought I did." He's standing outside of my house now trying to get a few last words in before I close the door. "We'll talk on Monday. Ok?" "You promise?" "Yes, I promise." He sticks his hands in his pockets and looks down at his feet. "Ok, bye Y/N. I love you." His voice much less cheery then when he first got here. I let out a sigh. "Bye Grayson." I close the door, turning back to the living room to continue my show, and hoping no one else interrupts my night of shirtless Kj Apa. Unless it was Kj Apa. He could interrupt me.
Monday morning
_________________________________The sounds of the overly crowded school worked it's way into my head, making me slightly more irritated then I already was. When your ex-boyfriend causes a scene at one of the biggest parties of the year, people are going to talk. And I've never really been the one to be center of attention. "Sup homie?" Jack appears beside me, dramatically wrapping his arm around my shoulder. "You disappeared at the party on Saturday." We walk up the stairs to the senior hallway. Which is also too crowded. "Yea. A little too much happened for me that night. I just had Lucy drive me home." He nods his head in an understanding manner. "Ok well I gotta get to home room so I'll see you later." Jack pulls away from me, now with a bored look on his face. "Ok I'll see you at lunch?" "I'll save you a spot." He winks and then starts jogging to down the hallway as an attempt to not be late. I finish the short walks to my locker, thankful my home room was only a few steps away from it. I pull the lock off and stick it back in once my locker is open. Inside, a giant bouquet of roses sit leaning against my books, with a small envelope sticking off the top.
