"Great work guys. See you tomorrow." My director says. I sigh in relief and walk over to Amelia who is sitting in one of the directors chairs coloring once again, also holding her teddy bear. She looks up at me and smiles.
"Mommy!" She says holding her arms out. I pick her up and swing her around. Hearing her giggles as she swings is a sound that I'll never get tired of.
"You ready to go home princess?" I ask. She nods continuing to smile. "Okay," I say smiling. I grab her crayons and coloring book, while she holds on to her teddy bear. I begin walking out the door before someone yells my name. I turn around and see my coworker, and best friend, Chris Wood.
"Hey," I say.
"Do you and Miss Amelia want to come to dinner with me?" He asks. I give him a confused expression. "There will be other people there. Jeremey said he could come. So did Floriana, Chyler, and David." He says.
"Sure," I say.
"Okay great! We're all meeting at In-n-Out." He says. "Bye Melissa. Bye Amy." Chris says. Amelia smiles and digs her head in my shoulder. She hasn't really warmed up to everyone yet. She warmed up to Chyler a little considering Chyler hung out with her a lot today.
"Alright. We're going to go home so mommy can get changed and then we'll go." I say. Amelia nods and I walk to my car.

"I'm here, I'm here," I say walking up to the table holding Amelia's hand.
"Took you long enough," Jeremey says jokingly.
"Sorry, Amelia insisted on wearing something completely different and no matter how hard I tried, she wouldn't agree to just wear what she's wearing." I try to explain.
"Motherhood at its perks," Chyler says laughing slightly.
"How do you handle three kids?" I ask.
"You'll get better. I promise." Chyler says. I help Amelia into her chair and then get in my own.
"I got a kids menu for Amelia," David says handing me the menu.
"Thank you," I say taking it and handing it to Amelia. She says she just wants a plain burger. I order a burger with ketchup. Everyone else orders after me and the waitress leaves.
"So Amy, do you like living with Melissa?" Floriana asks.
"Yeah, she makes really good pancakes," Amelia says quietly.
"She does?" Floriana asks pretending to be surprised. Amelia nods.
"Do you have your own room?" Floriana asks.
"Yeah, it's really big," Amelia says, beginning to talk a little louder. "It's much bigger than the room I had at daddy's house. There, I had a really small room." Amelia says. Floriana nods. This was the first time Amelia mentioned anything about life with her father since I adopted her. I'm kind of surprised. Everyone continued asking Amelia questions trying to get to know her until the food came.
