"Why couldn't Daddy come with us?" Leah asks as herself, Melissa, and Amelia walk into the bridal shop.
"I've already told you Leah. It's our girls day out." Melissa explains to her. Leah huffs continues following her mother and sister through the store.
"Mommy, look at this dress." Amelia says, walking over to a lavender purple dress. Her blue eyes shimmered as she looks at all the different dresses.
"It's very pretty Amy. Let's go over to the white dresses and see if we can find any." Melissa says, leading the girls over to the dresses. Melissa knew this would take forever considering how precise she wanted everything. The store was huge and over half of it was covered with dresses that she though were suitable for her wedding. She walks over to one section and looks through everything. The girls we busy laughing while playing with all the dresses. They'd pick them off the racks and pretend to be princesses with them. Melissa had to constantly remind them not to touch the dresses, even though they never listened.
"Girls, what about this one?" Melissa asks, holding up a white dress with sparkle sequences sprinkled along the bottom of the dress.
"Sparkles!" Leah gasps, running up to the dress. Amelia, on the other hand, wasn't as excited as her younger sister.
"How about you Amy? Do you like it?" Melissa asks. Amelia shrugs not wanting to say no. Melissa sensed that she wasn't a fan and moved onto another dress. She looked through the aisles setting her eyes on a more simple dress. This one had just a white layout with a silky pink ribbon tied around the middle. She pulled out two in the girls' size and turn to face them.
"How about this one?" Melissa asks. Both girls faces brightened while looking at the dress. Melissa took that reaction as a yes and smiled.
"I'm glad you like it. I think this one is absolutely adorable." Melissa admits. She and the girls go to buy the dresses. Once that was done, it was off to buy shoes. Melissa was aware her daughters had enough shoes already, but she wanted these ones to be special.
The trio walk into a small shoe shop near the bridal store and begin looking for shoes that matched their dress. This was Amelia's favorite part of the trip. She absolutely adored shoes. She ran over to the dress shoes while Leah trudged by Melissa. Amelia looks around and finally settles on white flats with tiny white bows on the front of them. Leah settled for a simpler alternative. She chose black flats that had a sleek overcoat. They shinned slightly and that was enough for her.
...
"Daddy! Daddy! We found our dresses!" Leah yells, running into the house. Chris was sitting on the couch.
"You did? Are they pretty?" Chris asks her.
"The prettiest." Leah responds, smiling widely.
"Well that's good. Can I see them?" Chris asks, hopeful.
"No Daddy! You get to see them at the wedding." Leah responds, putting her hands on her hips.
"Alright, I'll wait until the wedding." Chris says, chuckling slightly. Melissa smiles at the two. She's always admired their bond. It was like her's and Amelia's. She just wished everyday would be like today.
