Melissa's POV
"Amy, wake up." I say nudging her slightly. She groans rubbing her eyes. She opens her eyes to a squint.
"It's your first day of school." I say, smiling. She smiles slightly before yawning.
"Alright, what should you wear?" I ask, walking over to her closet. "How about this?" I ask her, holding a green dress with a flower in the middle. She nods and I walk over by her to try and help her get it on. I take off her pajamas before slipping the dress over her head.
"Don't you look adorable." I say, smoothing out her hair. I grab her brush off her vanity and start to brush through her hair. I finish and set the brush back down.
"Alright, how about you go and brush your teeth and I'll make you some breakfast." I say. She nods and walks off to the bathroom. I leave her room and walk downstairs. I go into the kitchen and grab some frozen waffles out of the freezer. I put them into the toaster and Amy comes down.
"They'll be done in a minute." I say, grabbing a pair of shoes for her to wear. I grab her black flats and walk over to her. I help her get them on and walk over to the toaster and put the now warm waffles on a plate. I drizzle a little syrup on it before starting to cut it.

Amelia's POV
"Bye baby." Mommy says, waving to me.
"Bye Mommy." I say waving back. She walks out the door and I turn around. I take a deep breath and walk into the classroom, feeling extremely nervous.
"Hi, what's your name?" Someone asks, coming up to me. I look over at her. Her red hair was tied into pigtails. She smiles as me making her blue eyes twinkle.
"Amelia." I say quietly.
"Hi Amelia, I'm Livia." She, I mean Livia, says with a comforting smile on her. "Come sit with me." Livia says, walking over to a table. She sits down and I sit next to her.
"What's your favorite color? Mine's Yellow." Livia says.
"Purple." I say, shifting my eyes from her to the wall then back at her.
"You can call me Amy if you'd like. That's what Mommy calls me." I say.
"Amy. I like it. My mommy calls me Livy or Liv." Livia says. The teacher walks in, shushing us. She introduces herself to us. Her name is Mrs. James. She has dark brown hair and her brown eyes shift from person to person as she talks. She explains that we're going to be doing a nifty coloring sheet. She says it's an 'All About Me' sheet so she can get to know us. She starts passing out the sheets. She also hands out sheets with different words. Including one that has my name on it. Amelia Benoist. Mommy had taught me a little about reading so I know what some of these words are but others I don't know.
"Amy, do you know what that says?" Livia asks. I look over at her paper.
"I think it's 'What's your favorite food?'." I say, completely guessing. Livia nods and starts writing down her answer.
...
"Bye Amy." Livia says, as her mom picks her up.
"Bye Livy." I say, waving to her waiting for mom to pick me up. Almost everyone else has been picked up already. I huff as I sit down in my seat. Mrs. James is at her desk, working on some paperwork. The only people left are two kids in my class named Henry and Violet.
"Amy, I'm here. I'm so sorry I'm late. I got caught up on set and traffic was awful." Mom says walking through the door. I stand up and run to her. She picks me up and kisses me on the cheek.
"Hello. You must be Ms. Benoist." Mrs. James says, standing up from her desk.
"Yes, hi. I apologize for being late. Traffic was awful." Mommy says, shaking Mrs. James hand.
"No problem. Amelia was great in class today. I can't wait to see her again tomorrow." Mrs. James says.
"I bet she can't wait to come back either." Mommy says, smiling. "Have a nice night." Mom says before leaving. We walk down the hall and into the parking lot. She helps me into my seat before getting in herself.
"How was school? Did you make any friends?" Mommy asks, as she turns the car on.
"Yeah, her names Livia. She has red hair and blue eyes." I say, smiling.
"That's good." Mommy says, driving out of the parking lot.
