"Mommy, I don't feel good," Amelia says. I take my eyes off my phone and look up at her.

"What hurts baby?" I ask.

"My tummy." She says clearly about to cry.

"Okay, come on," I say picking her up. I walk her into my bathroom and set her down on the counter. I dig around in my bathroom cabinets until I find some tums.

"Alright baby, eat this. It will make your tummy hurt less." I say handing it to her.

"I don't want to eat anything," Amelia says whining a little.

"Please, can you eat this one thing for mommy?" I ask. She nods and puts it in her mouth. She chews on it a little before swallowing.

"That was gross," Amelia says causing me to laugh.

"Come on, let's go watch tv downstairs," I say picking her up. I carry her downstairs and set her on the couch before sitting down next to her. I wrap my arm around her and she snuggles into me. I kiss the top of her head. I look up at the tv and watch the show I put on for her. It's SpongeBob which I think is becoming her favorite show. It is the only show she ever watches.

"Mommy, your phone is ringing," Amelia says snapping me out of my thoughts.

"Oh, thank you," I say reaching for my phone. I don't look at the caller ID before answering.

"Hello?" I ask answering the phone.

"Would you mind explaining to me who this little girl your always seen with is?" They ask. I take my phone off my ear and look at the caller ID. I see it's my mom.

"Her name is Amelia," I say putting my phone back by my ear.

"I didn't ask for her name. I asked who she was." My mom explains obviously getting frustrated.

"She's my daughter," I say.

"When did you have a child?" My mom asks.

"I didn't. I adopted her." I try to explain.

"You adopted here and didn't think about telling anyone?" My mom asks.

"I didn't know I had to tell someone what I'm doing every minute of every day," I say.

"You don't, but this is big. I would've liked if you told me." My mom says.

"I understand that. Here, how about you come down sometime soon and we can talk about this face to face. You could also meet your granddaughter." I say.

"Okay, I'll have to get back to you. I'll have to ask your father about when would be a good time." My mom explains.

"Okay, that'll be good," I say.

"Bye Melissa," Mom says.

"Bye, mom," I say hanging up. I set my phone back on the couch.

"Who was that?" Amelia asks.

"It was your grandma. She might be coming soon to meet you." I say.

"She wants to meet me?" Amelia asks.

"She does," I say.
