Amelia's POV
"Mommy, where are we going?" I ask as we drive into an unfamiliar city.
"To one of my favorite restaurants." Mommy says not taking her eye off the rode. I nod even though she probably can't see me. I continue to look out at the sky, which is beginning to darken. We pull into a restaurant that looks very fancy. Chris helps me out of my car seat and we walk into the restaurant. There are a few people dressed in black suits and dresses but everyone else is dressed in casual clothes. Mommy asks for a table for three and grabs my hand while the hostess leads us to a table. We all sit down and mommy gives me a smaller menu then she has. I look through it, having no idea what I'm looking at.
"Mommy, what can I have?" I ask. Mommy sets down her menu and grabs mine.
"Well, you can have a hamburger or mini corn dogs. Oh, you can also have spaghetti." Mommy says.
"I want that." I say. Mommy nods and goes back to looking at her own menu. Chris finishes looking over his menu soon after quickly followed by mommy. The waitress, who's name is Jayde, comes over and mommy tells her our order. She looks like she a little nervous when mommy is talking. I wonder why. I never thought mom was scary looking. The waitress becomes even more nervous when Chris starts talking. The waitress leaves and I look at mom.
"Why was she scared of you?" I ask her. Mommy looks at me for a second before chuckling a little.
"She just knows me from somewhere." Mommy says.
"Were you mean to her? Is that why she's scared?" I ask, still confused.
"No baby, I wasn't mean to her." Mommy says.
"Then why is she scared?" I ask, starting to get frustrated.
"You'll find out soon Amy." Mommy says, turning away. She starts talking with Chris and I left out a long sigh. Why can she just tell me. I just turned four. I'm basically a big kid now.
"Food's here." Chris says interrupting Mom's sentence. She just brushes it off and watches the waitress walk up to the table. She always gets mad at me when I interrupt her. Why doesn't she get mad at Chris. Maybe that's why the girl is scared of mommy. Mommy yelled at her for something.
"Here you go Amy." Mommy says setting my food in front of me.
"Thank you." I say.
...
"Mommy, I'm tired." I say as we walk into mommy's house. "And cold." I add.
"I know baby. Let's go upstairs and get you ready for bed." Mommy says. She grabs my hand and leads me upstairs. We go to my room and she has me sit on my bed while she looks for some pajamas. I stare at nothing while mom puts all of my pajamas on. She then helps me get into bed.
"Night baby." Mommy says kissing my forehead.
"Night mommy." I say. She goes over to my light and shuts it off, remembering to turn on my night light. She slightly shuts the door before heading downstairs by Chris. I jump slightly when the doorbell goes off. I hear mommy ask who could be here this late right before I fall asleep.
A/N: Sorry it's been so long since I've updated! I hope to update soon. Also, who do you think is at the door? A child? Another person? A crazed fan? Make sure to guess!
