Chapter One

Mac's POV

A scream woke me from my sleep. It came from Stiles' room. I shot up from my bed and ran into his room. Noah, as Sheriff S has insisted I call him, was holding onto Stiles from behind trying to calm him down. This isn't the first time this has happened. Ever since the night of the eclipse, everything has been going to shit. Stiles was having nightmares he wouldn't talk to me about, Derek left and probably wasn't coming back, my father keeps trying to talk to me, and the woman from the woods won't leave me alone.

"Mom?" I asked, my voice quivering. She can't be here. She's dead. She just smiled at me. My eyes watered and my body shook with fear as she tried to move closer. Isaac came and stood in front of me, glaring at her.

"No, child. I'm not your mother." The woman who bared my mother's voice said, "I am her sister. Helena"

"Sister?" Isaac asked.

"We were separated at birth. Your mother went to one family and I to another. I was looking up my past and I discovered that I not only have a twin but a niece." She said.

"Had." I spat out.

"Excuse me?" She asked.

"You had a twin. She's dead." I said bitterly and walked toward the car.

Ever since that night, I've been getting notes and such from my "aunt" who wants to build a relationship. She keeps showing up in places I frequent, like school and my house. My father keeps showing up at my house as well, trying to talk. I want nothing to do with either of them. Scott thinks I should at least talk to my aunt, even if only to learn more about being a Phoenix, since it seems she is one too. But I can't, she has my mother's face and it haunts me every time I think about it.

I was pulled out of my thoughts, by Noah walking past me, successfully calming down his son. I went and sat on the bed in front of Stiles.

"Talk to me." I said.

"It's just these nightmares, I can't tell if they are actually happening or if it's just in my head. I can't tell if this is real." He said, looking down.

"Stiles, this is real. This is actually happening. This is reality." I said, lifting up his head. The bags under his eyes were prominent. He look about as scared and he did exhausted.

"How do I know that?" He asks, laying back on his bed. I crawled next to him and he laid his head on my shoulder.

"It is. I promise." I said. This is how it's been. Stiles has a nightmare and I stay with him, comforting him until he falls asleep. We've become so close recently. I really consider him as one of my best friends.

"Distract me." Stiles said, moving down so his head rested in my lap.

"How?" I asked.

"Tell me about your aunt." He said and I sighed deeply. I ran my fingers through his soft hair.

"Well, I checked and she's really my aunt. My maternal grandparents had twins before they died." I said. "I wish she would leave me alone."

"Why?" He asked quietly. "That feels nice, by the way." I let out a chuckle and continued to play in his hair.

"Because she has my mother's face. She has the face of the women who ruined my childhood and beat me for years. The face that tried to kill me. I can't deal with that. I mean, am I wrong for not wanting to know her?" I said. I didn't get a response from Stiles. I sat forward, just to see his peaceful sleeping face. I smiled and sat back, resting my head against the wall, falling into a dreamless sleep.

First chapter of the sequel. It's kinda short, but I have great plans for this book.
