Chapter Ten
Mac's POV
"Scott!" I yelled, jumping out of my car. Stiles and Lydia stood over him, trying to wake him from his unconscious. Scott slowly opened his eyes, looking very disorientated.
"Barrow, he took Kira!" Scott said, slowly sitting up. I helped Scott stand.
"We know. He was after her the whole time." Stiles said. We might be a group of supernatural creatures, but how were we supposed to rescue Scott's crush from a madman who makes bombs?
"We'll figure this out." Scott said, trying to be positive Scott.
"Wait, call Issac!" I shouted, breaking our broody silence and starling everyone. They all looked at me like I was crazy. I sighed deeply, "He went to go help Allison with her research." Scott immediately pulled out his phone and dialed my best friend. He walked away as he waited for an answer.
"Issac, did you guys find anything?" Scott asked immediately as Isaac picked up.
"No, nothing. Just stuff about flies and the dead. Nothing else." I heard Isaac said through the phone. Well shit. That wasn't really any help."
"Alright. Thanks." Scott said, hanging up the phone and walking back toward us. His face was slightly panicked."We have to think of something, he's gonna kill her."
"I knew he was there. How did I know that?" Lydia asked.
"Because you heard the flies, right?" Stiles asked her.
"What do you hear now?" Scott asked. She looked at the ground, listening to for the flies she heard earlier.
"Nothing. I feel like I can do this. But I don't know what to do. It's like it's on the tip of my tongue, and I don't know how to trigger it." She said, walking forward in frustration. "I just I swear to God, it literally makes me want to scream." Stiles walked toward her, he had his idea look on his face.
"Okay, then scream. Lydia, scream." Stiles said. Before a second passed, her piercing cry filled the air. My eardrums rattled in pain. When she stopped screaming, the boys and I glanced at each other, hoping she came up with something. Lydia looked around slowly then up at the street light.
"It's not flies." Lydia whispered and turned around quickly toward us, making us jump. "It's electricity."
"Wait a second, Barrow was an electrical engineer. He worked at a power substation." Stiles informed us.
"What substation?" Scott asked. I quickly pulled out my phone and pulled up Google. After skimming a few articles, I found the name.
"Beacon Hill Power Station." I said and we ran to our individual vehicles and took off. I followed closely behind Scott, quickly finding Kira.
"Scott! No!" She yelled. He tried to run up to her, and Barrow came out of the shadows hitting Scott with some wires that sparked at the end, knocking him into a fence. I came up from behind, trying to disarm Barrow, but he hit me with the electricity too. I cried out in pain as it ran through my body. Barrow started walking toward Kira, probably with the intent of killing her.
"Don't. She's not- she's not the one you want." Scott yelled out.
"Scott, what are you doing?" I gritted out. Barrow looked at Scott's twitching body for a second, before slowly continuing toward Kira.
"Wait." I said, trying to move to save her, but couldn't make my body listen to me. Before anyone could save Kira, Barrow moved to touch her with the sparks. A bright light blinded me as the system overpowered and Barrow was thrown back. Scott and I watched as Kira sucked the electricity into her palms. I looked between the both of them in shock. What the hell?
