Chapter Eighteen
Mac's POV
"Wait, we're gonna rob an armored car?" One of the twins asked. We were standing in Allison's apartment, going over the plan of getting back Katashi's fake finger. It has a scroll in it that might help Stiles.
"Well, we're gonna try." Lydia said.
"This is not gonna turn out well." I sighed heavily.
~
"This is a really bad plan." Scott said after Lydia and Allison went over the plan they cooked up.
"It's not that bad." Lydia defended.
"It's not that good." Ethan countered.
"None of us knows the route they're going to take. If Allison can get one of her dad's GPS trackers on the armored car then we can follow it." Lydia explained again, pointing at the map, "So when it gets here-"
"We attack them?" Aiden asked, cutting her off.
"No." She said. "Your bikes will be in the middle of the road, looking like you guys got into an accident. And when the driver gets out to help-" Again he cut her off.
"We attack him?"
"No." Lydia and Allison chorused.
"Dude, what is with you and attacking? Can you channel your male anger and testosterone into something more productive?" I asked him.
"You'll distract him and Scott will break open the back door." Lydia finished.
"I hope." He said, not at all confident.
"And you'll get Katashi's finger." Lydia pointed out.
"It's not his actual finger, is it?" Ethan asked and I literally face palmed.
"You are so out of our league." Lydia sighed.
"We're gonna get killed or arrested." I pointed out, rubbing my head trying to sooth my up and coming headache.
"Why aren't we just going to Stilinski for help?" Aiden asked.
"Because if he gets caught, then it's the Sheriff tampering with federal evidence." Scott said.
"Guys, this is going to work. We can do this. We're losing Stiles. My Dad's in jail for murder. We need to do this." Allison said, trying to be positive and motivational.
"Okay wait." I said raising my hand. They all looked at me. "What about me? I've heard everyone else's role in the plan but mine."
"You're on standby. Just in case we need back up and you can come playing in with your fireballs and badass fire mojo." Lydia said.
"Oh, so pretty much if everyone else fails, I come to save the day and their asses?" I asked, and she confirmed with a nod. "I can get on that train."
~
I was waiting with the twins, for the truck to leave so they knew what route to take. I was really hoping I wouldn't be needed. I was hoping that Scott, Alison, and Kira would pull this off without my help.
"So what's going on with you and Stiles?" Aiden asked.
"What do you mean?" I asked him.
"There's something going on. It's like how Danny and I are." Ethan added.
"Same as me and Lydia." Aiden said. I looked at them annoyed. This was something I didn't wanna talk about, especially with them.
"Am I supposed to know what that means?" I asked, hoping they'd drop it.
"That awkward stage where you dated and still are around each other." Aiden said.
"Stiles and I never dated." I informed them.
"Well, something happened!" Aiden said throwing his hands in the air. I glared at him harshly.
"Just drop it." I said starting to get angry.
"Come on, it's not that big a deal." Ethan said.
"You can tell us." Aiden added. They kept moving closer, trying to convince me to talk.
"Leave it alone." I said, starting to feel my body heating up as I lost control. They keep pushing me, it won't turn out good for them.
"What you do, sleep with him?" Aiden asked. I looked away from them.
"Oh my god. She did." Ethan laughed. My vision switched quickly to orange. I saw their faces pale.
"I said leave it alone." The flame that whisked around me, thick and ready to burn everything down in its path. Especially these two annoying assholes.
Before either of them could speak again, a roar sounded. One that definitely didn't belong to Scott. Oh crap, that was not good. The twins took off towards it with their werewolf speed. I started running behind, not as fast.
By time I got there, the twins were fighting Kincaid. Kira was laying on the ground a few feet away with a scared look on her face. Allison and Lydia stood even further. I let my vision switch to orange and let a fireball form in my hand.
"Mac, No!" Scott yelled seeing the flames. I looked at him confused before essentially powering down. The twins were still clawing at Kincaid. "Stop. Ethan, Aiden!"
"Stop!" Lydia said as they threw Kincaid to the ground.
"You want him to come after us?" Aiden said.
"Scott, we've seen guys like this. Trust us. He's dangerous." Ethan said.
"So are we. And he looks smart enough to remember that." Scott said and pulled the prosthetic finger out of Kincaid's pocket. He shook it and the scroll fell out into his hand. He shared a happy look with Allison and I. He then turned to the twins. "We're here to save a life. Not end one."
With that Scott, Kira, and our human friends walked away. I looked at Kincaid and walked up to him. The twins flanked me. I flamed up, and looked down at him.
"My brother might've stopped me tonight, but if you come back to try and fix your broken ego by hurting any of my friends, you might find yourself in some trouble. Capeesh?" I said, my vision orange. He looked up at me, face bare of emotion but I could see the fear in his eyes.
"Do you understand?" Ethan asked.
"Or do we need to make you?" Aiden finished.
"I understand." He said lowly.
"Good." I said and punched him as hard as I could, knocking him out. With that, I turned and left. The twins followed without a word. I might not like them and vise versa but we all knew that we'd do what we need to to protect our pack.
