Chapter Twenty Three

Mac's POV

I watched as Deaton dug the flies out of the throats of the twins and Isaac, grimacing the whole time. I volunteered to go first and I can tell you I'm not a fan. When I first came to, I was not sure what the hell was going on at first. Then it all hit me.

As I was leaving the school, I ran into Deaton who promptly dragged me into the boys locker room where Kira and Allison were waiting with the boys.

"Are they okay now?" Allison asked.

"I hope so." Deaton responded. Yeah, me too. Being controlled by a supernatural fly was not fun. "The part that's worrisome, is that this was most likely just a distraction for what was happening to Stiles."

"There's really two of them now?" Kiara asked. "How's that even possible?"

"And how did the other one just take Lydia?" Allison asked. While Deaton was un-bugging us, he told us what happened at the McCall residence.

"We turned around and they were gone. So was her car." Deaton explained.

"So no one notices him just kidnapping her right out of the house?" Aiden wondered slightly angrily.

"Most of us were concentrated on the bizarre sight of a creature, materializing from out of the floor." Deaton said, full of his usual sass. Gotta love that sass.

"Hold on. How are you so sure which Stiles is which?" Kira questioned.

"That's what they're trying to figure out now." Deaton responded.

"I don't care which one is which. If it's not the Stiles we know and love, it dies." I said, crossing my arms. Soon after that, we broke off into little groups. I went over to give my best friend and hug.

"Mac, I've missed you." He said, hugging me back. I closed my eyes trying to fight off tears.

"Man, if it wasn't for being just possessed by insects, I'd be pissed at you." I said, biting back a sob. I've missed him so much. I couldn't stand not being able to talk to him. Plus, he went to Allison before me, and I'm slightly jealous. He was basically my brother and I didn't know he wasn't laid up in the hospital until a few moments ago.

"I'm sorry I've been M.I.A. I can see a lot has been going on." He said, tightening his arms.

"You got that right." I said, pulling away. I wiped away a tear that was starting to fall.

"Let's head home and change." He said, pulling at his wet shirt. We walked to my car, him telling me about his night with Allison. Okay, less jealous now. Of course, the first thing he does when he wakes up from his coma was go and get some. Typical guy.

"Okay, your place then mine?" Isaac asked.

"Hold on, I gotta make a call first." I told him pulling out my phone. I dialed Melissa's number and she answered with a shaky voice.

"Hey Mac, you okay?"

"Yeah, I'm good." I said, "I need to go home and change. Is he still there?"
