Chapter Twenty One
Mac's POV
The Oni were kicking our asses, like usual. I was knocked to the ground and before I had a chance to get up, they disappeared. Derek came over to make sure I was okay, just then the doors to the loft opened.
"What happened?" Scott asked, Kira directly behind him.
"They disappeared. They just disappeared." Allison said to her ex-boyfriend.
"So did Stiles." Noah said. I looked around confirming his words. Stiles was indeed gone. I'm sure sneaking off as we fought to keep him alive.
"What do we do?" I asked, standing up.
"Go home, we'll figure out something tomorrow." Scott said. We all sighed but agreed he was right. I don't know about everyone else, but I'm freaking tired. I held out my arm to help Derek up when I noticed the cut in his back.
"Are you okay?" I asked him.
"Yeah, I'm good." He responded, letting me look at the wound. I sighed, believing him. I know he'll heal with a few hours.
"Mac, you coming to my place?" Scott asked me. I was about to confirm when I caught a glance at Noah's defeated face.
"No, I think I'll head home with Noah." I responded. Noah caught my eyes and gave me a half smile. He looked grateful, not having to go back alone.
I could feel my heart start to beat harder in my chest thinking about going back in that house, but I knew it's what I had to do. Noah was losing his son and had no way to stop it, so I'll be there to give any support I could. After all he's done for me, it's the least I could do. Even if it means I'm not completely comfortable.
Everyone starts heading out. I start to follow Noah out of the door, but Derek grabbed my wrist. I looked at him confused.
"I can hear your heart, it's sounds like a rock concert going on in your chest. Are you sure you're okay to go back there? Do you wanna spend the night here?" Derek asked me.
"You're sweet, but I'll be fine." I said, "I promise." He have me a look but let go. He pulled me into a hug.
"Call me if you need anything." He said, I nodded and hugged him back. I walked out the building to find Noah leaning against the police cruiser. He looked incredibly sad. I hugged him, and he sighed.
"I'm really worried, Mac." He said, hugging me back.
"It'll be okay, I know it. Stiles is too stubborn to leave our lives. We're stuck with him. We'll get him back." I said, as convincingly as possible. I'm not sure I believed my own words.
"Let's go home." He said. We pulled apart from our hug and climbed in the car. As we drive, I kept glancing over toward him. His eyes were swollen and he looked tired. He was so stressed. I need for us to win this. This man was such a good person. He was nothing but wonderful to me since he met me. Noah took me in, a kid who he didn't know and had major problems, and became the father I never had.
When we got home, I slowly followed behind Noah into the house. I was terrified to walk into the house. I swallowed harshly, and rushed to my room. I couldn't help but wonder. How many nights, how many conversations was with Void Stiles? How many words were actually Stiles?
"Goodnight Mac." I heard Noah call out, right before I closed my door. I quickly responded with a goodnight and changed into some pajamas. I laid down, with a promise to clean myself in the morning. As I settled in, I could swear I heard a fly buzzing around but I was too tired to care. Sleep quickly took over as I shut my eyes.

Ohhh man. We're almost at the end of the 3rd season. I'm so excited to get to what I have in store for Mac and the pack.
I'll keep saying this, I apologize for the long periods between updates. Depression is a bitch and makes it hard for me to focus on writing. Between that, work, and school, I just haven't had the motivation. I'll try to do better, but honestly? No promises.
Let me know what you think?
