Chapter Two

Mac's POV

When I woke up, the first thing I noticed was I wasn't in my room. The second was the arms wrapped around my waist. I fell asleep in Stiles' room, I remember now. Somehow in our sleep, we ended up in a spooning position. I looked over at the time as I slowly removed myself from Stiles' warm grip. Two minutes before my alarm goes off. I slowly got out of the bed and tiptoed to my room, just as my alarm started blaring.

6 am sharp. It's how early I get up every morning. I have a pretty routine morning schedule. I shower, get dressed, make breakfast for the boys and coffee for Noah, then I wake Stiles up. I showered quickly and dressed, heading downstairs.

Noah was already in the kitchen drinking coffee dressed for work when I arrived.

"Hey, that's supposed to be my job." I said, opening the fridge and pulling out some eggs.

"Actually it's not. Though I appreciate it, you don't have to get up early and do this every morning." He said, putting his coffee down.

"Yes I do." I replied, "You're letting me stay here rent free. The least I can do is make breakfast and coffee. I got to pull my weight somehow."

"Mac, you're welcome here. Coffee or no coffee." He said and stood up, "I gotta be in early, so I'm leaving. Make sure my hard headed son actually shows up for school today."

"I will." I replied, letting out a laugh. I poured myself a cup of coffee as Noah left out the door.

"What the hell are you doing here?" I heard Noah say. I closed my eyes and focused my hearing.

"I'm here for Mackinzy, not you." I heard a voice reply. That voice belonging to my father. I groaned, why is he here again? Doesn't he see I want nothing to do with him?

"Look, obviously Mac doesn't want you around. She not only as avoided you ever since you got here, but she's blatantly said it. So how about you get back in your car, drive away, and leave my kid alone." Noah said. His kid?

"Mac isn't your kid!" I heard my father yell in anger.

"She might as well be! I've been more of a father to her in the last few months then you have been all of her life!" Noah yelled back. I didn't hear anymore talking but I did hear someone stomping away, slamming their car door, and driving away. I heard Noah sigh and walk to his patrol car, heading off to work.

A hand touched my shoulder, scaring the shit out of me. I turned to see Stiles. He held his hands up in surrender.

"You just scared the shit out of me Stiles!" I said, holding my hand to my chest, feeling my heartbeat pumping at a quick pace.

"I'm sorry. You were just standing here, I was just trying to make sure you were alright." He said.

"Yeah I'm good. Your dad was outside talking to my father. I was just listening." I replied, I set down my cup and looked at him. He was pale and the bags under his eyes were deep. I moved my hand to his cheek and rubbed a finger over of if the bags, "What about you? You look absolutely exhausted."

"Well, not sleeping for more than a few hours a night does that to you." He said sarcastically as per usual and I chuckled.

"Come on, go get ready for school and I'll make breakfast." I said.

"I'm not hungry." Stiles said and headed back upstairs. I sighed and turned back to my coffee.

"What are you doing back here?" I asked as Noah walked in the door. He was carrying a box full of files.
