Chapter Thirty Two

Mac's POV

When we arrived at the now demolished Hale house, Derek was nowhere in sight.

"Did we beat him here?" Stiles asked climbing out the car.

"No, he was here. I can feel it." I said, walking into the part of the ripped fence.

"Is this a 'Derek and I used to be in the Big L so I can feel it in my soul' thing?" Stiles asked, a hint of sarcasm in his voice.

"No, Asshat. This is a 'I'm more in control of my Phoenix powers and learned new tricks' thing." I said in the same tone. I closed my eyes and let my power course through me. I felt a range of emotions rush through my body.

"What are you doing?" Scott asked.

"I'm feeling the emotions. Much like you can smell emotions, I can sense them in my surrounding area. The more familiar you are to me, the better I can feel them when I want to." I explained. I could feel Derek's fear and anger. He was scared out of his mind.

"Someone else was here." Scott said, picking up other scents. I could feel their emotions too but I didn't know them to determine who the emotions belonged to. "I think it was a cop or two."

"So he's at the station?" Stiles asked, "Maybe we can get there before they run his prints."

~

We did not get there before they ran his prints. We ran past the front desk in to the holding area to find Noah staring at Derek in confusion. When he saw us, he motioned to his office.

"You three, in there." He said to us and turned to his deputies, "I'll handle this." When we got in Noah's office, he turned and gave us a serious look.

"I want you to be honest with me. Absolutely and completely honest. Have you been time traveling?" Noah said, which was a plausible question. I'm not gonna lie, I thought it for a second too.

"Hang on, what?" Stiles asked but Noah continued on his rant.

"Because if time traveling is real, you know what? I'm done. I'm out. You're going to be driving me to Eichen House." He yelled.

"We found him like that." Scott argued.

"Where? Swimming in the fountain of youth?" Noah whispered angrily.

"No. We found him buried in a tomb of wolfsbane in an Aztec temple in Mexico underneath a church in the middle of a town that was destroyed by an earthquake." Stiles explained. Scott and I looked at him in disbelief. Did he really just say that?

"You told me you were camping!" Noah looked at his son, eyes brimming in anger.

"Yeah, we were... In Mexico." Stiles said and Noah turned his angry eyes to me.

"Don't look at me, I was not involved in this one." I said, "They ditched me for this trip."

"You were threatening murder!" Stiles yelled exasperated.

"Only if it were necessary!" I yelled back.

"Guys, come on." Scott said to us and looked back at Noah. "Derek's been aged backwards. He can't remember anything. We just need to talk to him."

"Yeah, well, so far he's not talking to anybody." Noah said with a heavy sigh.

"He'll talk to me." Scott said. With that Noah escorted Derek in the room. He then walked out and watched us talk through the window. Derek sat on the couch and looked at the three of us. "Derek, I need you to come with us."
