Chapter 36

Dan’s Pov

“Dan I erm well, I…..Dan I’m pregnant” her tiny voice reached my ears making my heart stop beating, surely I was hearing things this couldn’t be right

“Eh erm “ was all I stuttered out I honestly don’t think my brain could make any word out at the moment and I dread to think what my face looked liked at the minute

“Dan” her perfect little voice hit me again like a tonne of bricks, talk about shitty timing, yeah I wanted a baby in like a year maybe two years’ time, not now, not when we were getting ready to go to a war, when we were moving and me being Beta now, it was just, well just shocking plus we had used protection. Gabby wasn’t ready we’d only been mated a week the poor girl I must have knocked her up on the first time. Geez me and Milo really couldn’t do anything without the other doing the same

“You, you’re pregnant? Are you sure? You can’t be we were, we were careful Gabby” I stuttered out again my eyes locking with her water filled ones, she looked so scared I just wanted to wrap her up and never let her go but my body was frozen to the spot, as much as I willed it to move it just wouldn’t

“I’m sure hunny, I’m so sorry I didn’t want you to find out like this but when Abby said no pregnant women….Dan I am really sorry but I need to be with her I need to fight”

“Like fucking hell you do Gabby” I screamed my body snapping out of the statue like state and launching towards her wrapping her up and holding her closely to me so I could feel her heart beat against mine, putting my nose to her forehead I inhaled deeply. There it was the faint smell of our baby. She was most definitely pregnant.

“Dan” she started her tears still flowing down her face

“No Gabby, you are not going anywhere, I will not let anything happen to you or our baby” I snapped immediately regretting it by just the look of fright on her face

“Oh Gabby I’m sorry for shouting it’s just I can’t lose you, you or the baby” I admitted, holy crap a baby, I was going to be a daddy. Me Dan a daddy

“Gabby I love you please stop crying everything will work out” I said softly holding her tightly to me loving the feeling of her against me the shocks were going wild

“I’m really sorry Dan” she muttered into my chest through her tears, sighing I couldn’t help but think how much she needed me but it was all coming out at the worst possible time. As if on cue Abby coughed slightly behind me grabbing our attention

“Guys we need to get ready, everyone will be back soon. Gabby you’re staying and that’s final, Dan go get your sister, Now Gabby's staying I need Alyssa with us” she barked at me, over this last week she was turning out to be an amazing Alpha and how she’d handled this attack was nothing short of miraculous I was truly honoured to be her Beta especially sharing it with Milo. My respect for her just tripled when she refused point blank to let Gabby fight. She knew she was one of her best but she put Gabby and the baby first, she really was an amazing leader, Alpha, sister in law and friend.
