RYAN
Faye hated me.
That much was certain.
Be it the disgust in her eyes as she glared at me or the slight sneer in her words as she talked to me.
Infact, it almost felt like she hated me more than Alexis. And to be honest, if I was in her position I would probably feel the same. Not that I could ever hate Faye. But I understood. She'd believed a lie.
I couldn't understand how she could believe Alexis's words over mine, the girl I was falling for.
Had fallen for.
It's not a picnic, let me tell you, to have the girl that makes you smile, hate you with a passion. To have her look at you and instead of lighting up, let this dark, dark hatred take over.
It was killing me, looking at her and not being able to talk to her, or make her laugh, or even smile.
When I reached home that day, my head a dark mess of destructive thoughts, I found my mom in the kitchen, stirring something that made my mouth start drooling of its own accord.
In the living room sat Viv, playing with Moon. Seeing them both brought a smile to my face and I grinned over at them as they looked up to see me approaching.
'RYAN!' Moon yelled, jumping to her feet, two ponytails swinging as she pattered towards me excitedly, 'you're home!'
I laughed, picking her up and swinging her around before she could collide with my legs; bestowing a cheeky kiss on her golden hair before nuzzling my nose into it and breathing in deeply. I relaxed as the scent I'd come to associate with home flooded my lungs.
She snuggled into my shoulder and giggled in my arms, wrapping her own tiny hands around my neck before leaning back to take me in, 'Vivvy was fixing my Hot Wheels for me. Wanna see?'
'Oh, really?' I asked, raising a brow as I turned to grin at Viv. She sat cross-legged on the floor, watching Moon and I's interaction with a huge smile. Realizing my attention was now on her, she nodded, smiling at Moon.
'We're almost finished with the track,' she replied, patting the ground next to her, 'you can help but, personally, I think Moon here has got it all under control.'
Moon giggled, wriggling in my arms to be put down and I did as she wanted, taking a seat as she grabbed my hand and dragged me down with her.
She picked up two random pieces of the race track and stared at them in concentration before attempting to put them together. They were complete opposites.
Smiling at her in amusement, I plucked the odd one away and replaced it with the right piece. She shot me a grateful grin and pieced them together.
Turning to Viv, I found her watching me and raised my brows. She blushed.
'So what brings you here, your highness,' I teased and her sheepish smile reverted to an amused grin.
'My dad dropped me off because I was free and wanted to catch up. Plus, your mom said she was cooking shepherd's pie and even you know those are to die for.'
Letting out a laugh, I nodded in agreement as my mom walked into the room.
She took one look at the mess around Moon and sighed, shooting a fond look over at her daughter.
