'You stole what?'
I let out a defeated sigh and bit off another bar of my chocolate, turning to face Avril as we walked to class.
'A pair of sunglasses. But it's fine, I sent Will to return them with a note that said sorry. I returned the taser too, but I had to wrestle Ryan for it. I swear he's like a child.'
Avril laughed, no doubt imagining the scene and I grinned over my chocolate, remembering how he pleaded with me to not return it.
The tardy bell rang just as I reached my class and we entered Economics to chaos.
The teacher, surprisingly, was nowhere to be seen and the class looked like a wrecking ball had demolished it. The chairs were all strewn in one corner and the tables were on either side of the class, laying on their sides and serving as shields to the students piled behind them.
I can't believe it.
I'd walked in and was looking at grown ass students, almost all of them at eighteen years of age, having a paper fight.
Paper war would be more accurate in this case.
There were rolls and rolls of crumpled paper and spit balls flying everywhere. Yells rang around the classroom and cheers whenever someone from one side nailed the other.
But what astounded me the most, was that Rhea, 'don't touch me when I'm studying or I'll fuck you up' Rhea was leading one side and Sam, 'quiet, I don't care, leave me alone or you'll end up without a nose' Sam, was leading the other.
'Aim for the faces!' Rhea yelled gleefully, aiming and sending a spectacular paper airplane straight into a kid's forehead.
'What the bejeesus is going on here!' Avril yelled over the ruckus, causing a hush to fall over the room as every eye shot her way.
The silence that flooded the room was interrupted only by a small, 'shit.'
Have I mentioned that Avril is kind of largely feared across the school? It's a long story. But to make it short, she's terrifying when she chooses to be.
Thus, the reaction.
'Do you guys realize,' Avril began angrily, stalking to the center of the room and glaring at everyone, 'what kind of punishment we'd receive if a professor walks in right now?'
'And Rhea?' she exclaiming, spinning towards her. Rhea winced, expression already morphing to one of ashamed.
'I thought you were more responsible than this,' Avril sighed, shaking her head. She turned to shoot a simple glare at Sam who cocked a brow at her.
'We're just having a little fun,' Sam spoke simply and Avril scoffed, looking around her.
'That fun includes demolishing school property and creating a huge mess. That you're probably not even going to attempt to pick up so yeah. Fun.'
'Avril,' I whispered, pulling her to the side even as she opened her mouth to say more, 'that's enough. Look at Rhea. She was practically bursting with excitement before we came in. It's the first time I've seen her this excited over anything other than a book.'
Avril paused, turning to look at Rhea who had started picking up the large piles of paper on the floor, instructing others to do so as well. Her cheeks were flushed pink and her eyes bright. Even Avril noticed it.
