I was hiding in the library.
Well, what else are you supposed to do when the schools bad boy is searching for you?
I can almost hear you guys yelling about running into his arms like crazy wierdos and the answer is No.
So here I was, scouring the shelves for a book to read in a white hoodie like a hoodlum. Yay me. It was a wonder the librarian hadn't thrown me out yet.
It was after school and I'd been here for around an hour. I was going to go straight home but one of my science squad geeks warned me that Ryan Stryker had come asking about me and I'd bolted here for some reason. Waiting it out. Last time I saw him he was waiting for me by the front entrance of the school.
I just realized, that if my life were a book then I'd be the cliché-ist one out there. Sure, it seems like it. Good nerdy girl with two friends, one wild and one shy along with a bitchy nemesis and the 'hero' of the story a popular 'bad boy'. Gosh, my life seems boring.
But I never said I was a good girl, did I?
Sure, at school I avoided the kids other than my friends and got good grades. But who wouldn't avoid the jerks at my school?
I have a blue streak in my hair. I have a secret tattoo that only my brother knows about. I ride a skateboard. I love music. I prank the kids who bully me at school, secretly, with my friends as revenge. But here's the actual secret.
I race motorcycles in illegal areas as a part time job.
Bet you didn't know that. Let me just say that I love Graffiti, no doubt, but get me a Crotch Rocket and I'd probably marry you. That bike has been in my dreams since I'd set my eyes on it.
Anyway, back to my not so cliche life.
I was walking down an aisle, fingertips trailing down the spines of the books, as I went over the best classics I'd read, in my mind.
Anne of green gables, Little Princess, Little Women, Shakespeare, The Railway Children, The Secret Garden...
And then the not-so-classics. The Outsiders, The Maze Runner series, The Throne Of Glass series, The ACOTAR series, The Book Thief, Oblivion, The House of Secrets series, The Hunger Games series, The Heroes Of Olympus series...
Wow, I'd read a lot of series. Thinking of Rick Riordan, my fingers came to rest on a book and I pulled out The Trials Of Apollo with a happy sigh. I'd gladly read this book again.
But as I pulled it out, the gap left behind framed a very vivid blue eye staring right at me. I shrieked in surprise and dropped my book but as I rose from quickly picking it up, there was no sign of the Blue-Eyed stranger.
