It's a really hot afternoon and I'm so tired right now. All I want to do is just get into my room and sleep. Wait... Nah, I think I'll eat, then sleep. Ah! My two favorite activities.
'Hey, don't try screaming, I have a gun, give me your bag.'
I'm busy thinking about food and sleep, then I hear this from someone behind me. I can't process the information fast. Wait a second. Am I being robbed? No way!
'And if anyone comes up or down this staircase, you'll act like nothing is happening. Am I clear?' She's busy giving instructions, please state your intentions again.
Now, there really is something pointing at my back. It's actually a gun! Oh my goodness! I can't give up my bag, it's got my cellphone, my purse... No... This cannot be happening to me.
'Are you deaf?'
Now, I'm looking at my bag, as if asking myself if the bag and it's contents are worth dying over.... Nah, I guess they're not.
'You can have it.'
I stretch out the bag, and quickly she snatches it and runs down the staircase. But I'm also quick enough to look back and save her appearance in my memory. She's brown-skinned, wearing a black hoodie, black jeans and black sneakers. Dem no swear for me na. This hall is filled with people. In fact, it's past four pm, boys are inside. I can't just let someone get away with my bag. I definitely have to make her give it back. So what do I do? I have to call people's attention.
At this point I'm not thinking straight, I just decide to walk casually outside, and I won't call attention until I spot her, at a safe distance of course, I'm scared of being shot.
On getting outside, I spot her walking right out of the gate. She can't possibly shoot me all the way from there if I shout now, can she?
'Thief! Thief!'
People are staring at me, but not reacting...it's like they need time to process my screams. Urrgh! Do something people!
'Thief! She took my bag! She just went outside!'
At this point, I've caused pandemonium. Girls are screaming and running around. Some are also shouting 'thief', even though they had no contact with the thief...Well, help me shout it girls.
A lot of people are coming towards me right now.
'she's wearing a black hoodie! She just went outside! My black hermes bag!'
A security guard and some boys run out of the gate. People are asking me all sorts of questions. A lot of girls are standing by, looking out of their balconies, I am the center of attention right now. And I sure have scared a lot of girls.

Getting back to the hall now, a lot of girls are staring at me. They sure do recognize me as the robbery victim. I've had to answer the 'how are you?' question from different people this night. Not the casual 'how are you?' thing, but that one people ask like they're expecting you to not be okay. I'm coming from the central security office of the school, where I had to write a report and answer tons of questions. I'm so tired right now, this time, much more than I was in the afternoon. All I wanted was to eat and sleep until that evil girl robbed me. Then I made sure she got caught and we both have been with the security officials since then. Maybe I should have eaten before going back out to yell 'thief'... Okay, that wouldn't have made any sense... I just need to eat and sleep badly.
'Hey Etse, are you okay?' Vivian, one of my friends in the hall asks.
'Yeah I'm fine.'
Then she hugs me. You know those kind of tight hugs that you give to people who are grieving. Yeah, that's what she's giving me right now. Girl, it's not that deep. I didn't exactly lose anything.
