I'm in the hotel room, with the other bridesmaids. We're getting ready for the wedding. I stare at myself in the mirror. The gown is teal green, simple, and beautiful.
After getting my make-up done, I decide to go to the room where Aunty Mercy is. Approaching there, I see the maid of honour coming out. She tells me the cars have arrived and that I should go outside. Then she goes to tell the others.
I walk in on Christina and Aunty Mercy talking.
'I wasn't happy with this at first. I mean, you knew that. Even though my dad's normally a cheerful person, he's even much happier these days. The joy you bring to him is undeniable. Seeing him happy makes me happy. I'm happy for him, and I'm happy for you.'
'Thanks, Christina. Means a lot that you'd say these things.'
Aunty Mercy gives Christina a really tight hug.
'The cars are here. We don't want to be late.' She then notices me. 'Hey you! How long have you been standing there?' She laughs.'Not too long.' I move closer to them. 'You look lovely, Aunty Mercy.'
'Thanks dear. You girls look great in those bridesmaids dresses too.'
'But, we will be late if we stay here for one more second. Let's go!'
With those words from Christina, we rush out.************************************
The church auditorium is a really large one, and is quite filled up with guests. I honestly wasn't expecting the wedding to be this grand. But then, it's the Ola's we're dealing with here. Of course it would be.We're paired up with the groom's men and we join the procession, walking hand-in-hand. I wanted to be paired with Albert but I'm not. All the groom's men are looking dapper but Albert just looks so awesome in that tux.
Wait. What's up with me?The hymn being sung is "The Voice that Breathed Oe'r Eden". But it's not chorused by the entire congregation. Only two members of the choir sing it as a duet and it's a lovely rendition. It reminds me of our performance at the reception.
Etse, you're going to be awesome, as usual.
Yes, I've got to assure myself. On getting to where we're supposed to be seated, we turn to look at the bride as she's still making her way forward. My goodness! She is so gorgeous! Her dress is not too extravagant, but it is beautiful. The grin on Mr Ola's face is so wide. I wouldn't be able to contain my joy either if I were a man marrying this angel. He hit a jackpot, I hope he knows it. Beauty in and out, what more could a person ask for?
We get to the time for vows and it's a tear-worthy moment. They actually wrote their vows, like you see in the movies, and they have really beautiful things to say to each other.
Well, this is one of those churches where there's no "you may kiss the bride", so, that isn't happening.

'Are you done?' Albert asks from outside the room where I'm changing my dress. It was decided that I can't wear my bridesmaid's dress to perform, so I'm changing into a black dress I brought along.
'Almost.' I reply.
'Be quick.'
I zip up my dress, then brush my weave, and head out of the room.
'You remember the arrangements, right?'
'Yeah, sure.'
'Don't be nervous.'
'I won't.' I chuckle.
'Okay then, let's go.'
We head back into the hall. The newly weds are already having their dance. One of the band members is singing our "remixed" version of Ed Sheeran's 'Perfect'. I'm up next once he's done. Well, I and Albert. We're singing 'Dream Come True'. It's going to be a whole switch up. Aunty Mercy dictated it herself.
