It's the twentieth chapter!!! Yaaay! 🎉🎆🎆

I'm walking down Samuel and Omotola's estate, trying to find Omotola's house. Nimi already described it well enough. It's painted green and lemon and it's the only one painted with those colours, in the whole estate. I'll definitely know it when I see it, according to Nimi.

I'm trying to rehearse a speech I'm going to deliver to her, in my head, but I'm failing at it.

Voila! I find the house after a few minutes. I shiver a bit as I walk towards the gate. I knock on it three times before it occurs to me that there's bell. I push the button and I hear the the sound ring from a distance, obviously inside the house.

'Whoever opens the gate, tell them you're looking for Omotola.' I say to myself in a hushed tone. I have no idea why I'm rehearsing that. Nervousness is taking over me.

I press the bell again, then I hear the sound of metal door opening.

'Who is it?' That's Omotola's voice.

'Etse.' I answer.
Omotola opens the gate and gives me a look like she's wondering why I'm here.
'Um - - hi.'

'Etse, why are you here?'

'I'm sorry. I'm - - um, here because of - - um - - Samuel.'
Omotola rolls her eyes at me.
'Look, you can't just dump Samuel like that, because of me.' I shoot straight up.

'This doesn't even make any sense. I don't get this.' She looks at me like she actually doesn't understand what I'm saying.

'I mean, it's not fair to him.'

'Quick suggestion. Why don't you two just date? '

'What? Jesus Christ! I and Samuel don't feel that way about each other. We're just best friends.'

'Really?' She scoffs.

'Really! You need to see how badly he's taking your break up. He is shattered. You mean a lot to him. Don't treat him like this, please.'
She gives no response.
'For months now, I and Samuel haven't remained super close like before. So I've practically not been hanging around you too much. How am I still a big problem?'
Still no response.
'I remember how you were begging me in my room when I thought you released that picture of me. You were looking like you couldn't hurt a fly. Now you've hurt Samuel badly. And I can't believe you don't even feel bad about this.'

'It's obvious you're oblivious of the whole issue. I don't think he explained it well to you, so, I'll do you the favour of offering the explanation.' She moves a bit closer to me. 'Since that time you and Samuel have stopped being "super close",' she makes air quite as she says the words "super close", 'he hasn't totally been himself. It was obvious he was missing something. Then all of a sudden you made mention of some individual named Jennifer and he started acting up. Asking me all sorts of questions. He started to doubt me, and started to believe that maybe I really did give Favour those pictures knowingly. '

' I'm sorry. It's just Jennifer lied against him and framed him more than once. Her evils were so perfectly crafted. So, that's probably why he found it hard to believe...

'I know what she did. He's told me before. You reminded him about it, so that he would believe I was lying too.'

'How did you know I mentioned Jennifer?'

'Well, when he got to my hall that night, he was looking really pissed. So I asked for what was wrong and he said you brought up the Jennifer story.'

'Omotola, I'm truly sorry.'

'You have a crazy control over him. I can't understand that. It can't work. I'm sorry. Your absence affects him badly, you say one word, he acts up. How do you want me to cope with that? How do you want me to be okay when the turns my relationship would take are subject to your actions and inactions? How do I live knowing a third party is a great influential force in my relationship? I can't, I'm sorry. '
