It's Monday night... Yes! My exams are over! I'm coming from a Dance Dynasty rehearsal. We decided to meet today to learn some routines since we hoped to be invited to perform at events that would be going on in the second semester.
I'm walking back to my hall with Biola and Mirabel... Yes, Mirabel is a member of the crew too. Rose didn't even attend the rehearsal...she's at Brian's.
'Mirabel!' A male voice calls from behind us.
We look back and see two guys approaching. Though it's dark, I know none of them is familiar to me.'Felix, hey.' Mirabel greets one of them, with an ounce of excitement. She stops, making I and Biola stop too.
Once they approach us, the Felix guy hugs Mirabel.
'Good evening girls.' Felix greets I and Biola.
'Good evening.' We respond.
'Hi.' The other one says.
'Good evening.' I respond. Biola just nods.
'Where are you girls coming from?' Felix asks.
'Rehearsal. It's our dance crew stuff.' Mirabel responds, as she starts moving, prompting us all to do the same.
Felix starts having a conversation with Mirabel as they move in front and maintain a short distance from the rest of us. The other guy is with I and Biola...well, I'm kind of behind.
'So, um, hey.' The other guy says to Biola.
'Hi.' She responds.
'So, you dance?' He asks.
Does this guy realize he hasn't done a proper introduction of himself?'Well, yes.' Biola answers.
'Cool.' He remarks. A few seconds after he says, 'So, um, I'm in Tech'.
Sorry? Is your name "in Tech? These Tech boys...
Biola stops and gives him a funny look.
'So... Should we start clapping?' Biola asks as she folds her arms. 'That's definitely not a proper way to introduce yourself.' She says.
Iron Lady.'Oh, okay, I'm sorry. And what's the proper way?' He says. I can't tell if he's being sarcastic though.
'Well, people would usually start by saying their names, and not bragging about their faculties.'
'But I wasn't bragging.' He laughs a little. 'Okay, I'm Tomiwa. And you are?'
'Biola.'
'Alright. Well you know I'm in Tech. So, what department are you in?'
Funny how this guy didn't mention his own department.'Faculty of Law.'
Hmm. The way that response came out with an air of authority...'No wonder.'
'No wonder what?' Biola gives another funny look.
'Nothing o.'
Wait... Why am I so "involved" in this conversation I've not been called to join.
I bring out my earpiece from my pocket and plug it in. If these boys are going to walk with us and not dignify my presence, I better entertain myself.
My earpiece is plugged in only one ear, so I'm still trying to listen in on Biola and the weird guy's conversation.
Don't judge me.They're now talking in more hushed tones, I can hardly hear anything. But at some point I hear him saying something about girls being harsh and unfair. And I swear I hear "Chris" more than once. Then Biola says something like, "You seem to have a thing for gossip". To which he says "No o, not at all".
