'How was the date?' Onana asks as I walk into a room filled with excited faces. All my roommates, except Dunni who isn't here now, look like they have been anxiously anticipating my return.
'It was fine.' I say casually wanting the excitement they feel to kill them while they beg me to gist them.
'Fine kee you there!' Deb shouts and they begin talking all at once. I enjoy this. I enjoy being the centre of attention.
I move to sit on my bed while they "make noise".'C'mon! ' Tife suddenly yells slamming the sides of her fist on her bunk.
' Careful, I'm under you.' Vanessa says looking upwards like she can see the occupant of the upper bunk, Tife.
' Calm down guys. I'm tired, I'll gist you tomorrow. '
' No way!' Mary says in her usual authoritative tone. And then, she gives me a look like "you better start talking".
'Wait guys, before we go any further' Chioma begins addressing the others 'what is in that white nylon bag she's holding?'
The nylon bag in question actually contains my dinner, which Chris got for me.'Food.' I reply.
'He got it for you?' Dayo asks.
'Sure now.' Onana answers.
'Just as if you knew I was hungry.' Dayo says and winks.
'You and who?!' I ask and motion as if I'm searching for who she's talking to.
'Na your date, Dayo?' Onana asks.
'Abi, let her eat it in peace o.' Vanessa adds
'Are we not peaceful enough to share?' Rose asks making a puppy dog face.
'Mine only!' I declare.
Just then, Dunni walks into the room.'Ekaabo o.' She greets and then looks at the wristwatch in her hand. '8:30. Not bad.' She shrugs.
'Am I too late?'
'I just said "not bad"... How was it though?'
'The mumu girl does not want to talk.' Deb says.
My date was actually fun. I totally enjoyed it. We saw a movie, it was a comedy, because I love comedy. Afterwards, we just sat somewhere at the mall and spent a lot of time talking about different stuff. I guess it was fun for me because I enjoy talking with him. When we got to the front of the school, he asked if I had dinner, and I said I didn't. Then, he took me to Savour, a nearby cafeteria where they sell really good rice and big roasted chicken and he got me food. Then we came back to school and took a walk around school. Well, not around the entire school, but you know, through familiar routes.
'Plus that nylon in her hand is definitely from Savour.' Chioma, the regular Savour patronizer in the room says.
'And she won't share.' Rose scoffs.
'Forget the food. Let's hear how it went.' An eager Vanessa says.
'Okay guys.'
I proceed to narrate how my date went to them, as briefly as possible. I'm actually feeling tired.'Wait, didn't he get you anything at the cinema?' Tife asks.
'Of course he did. We had hot dogs.'
'Awwn, and he still got you dinner.' Vanessa says.
'There's no big deal in that.' Rose rolls her eyes.
'Hater!' Tife shoots.
'Well, I'm about to eat this wonderful meal all by myself and I expect no gazes on me.' I say as I majestically move to my side of the table and set the food on it.
The food is really good and I enjoy it. I decide to give pieces of chicken to those who asked. I did not end up eating a large portion of it. Sad!

I'm sitting at the quadrangle in my hall chatting away on my phone. My network connection got pretty slow and Dunni recommended coming to the quadrangle for faster connectivity, and well, it worked. The way data services cannot just be absolutely impeccable in Nigeria is a problem.
Two people choose to come sit beside me on the long chair I'm sitting on. And these two are none other than Favour, yes the same Favour, and the Jay guy from Chris' party. I'm not exactly surprised these two know each other. But I'm surprised Favour stays in my hall. I had no idea.
At first I really do not care about their conversation, I'm too busy with my phone, but suddenly she says something that strikes in my ears.
'I'm not done with that babe sef. I will treat her f**k up to my satisfaction.'
This girl is obviously just frustrated with her relationship and looking for who to throw it all at.
'Iron Lady.' Jay hails and I mentally roll my eyes at this guy. I also make a mental "to do list" to ask Deb and Rose about what he is like, since they were secondary school mates.
'Her case will serve as an example to other girls that think they can go near my Tunde.'
'Maybe your Tunde is the problem.'
I cannot believe I just said that. I have absolutely no business in this conversation. I guess I'm just too pissed about the way she thinks.'Excuse you? Please, "what" are you? How dare put yourself in this conversation? Who gave you the effrontery to talk to me? Na for where you go borrow liver?' She rants, stands up and moves to face me properly.
'I'm sorry, it wasn't in my place to...
' It definitely wasn't! ' She cuts in.
' I said I'm sorry. '
' Calm down Favour. 'Jay says with his usual mischievous smile on his face.
' No, is she mad? ' She says facing Jay. Then she turns to face me again. ' Etse or whatever your name is... Are you mad? ' So she knows me. But what exactly is wrong with this girl?
'I'm not mad! I didn't even insult you. Why are you getting all aggressive? ' I say and get up to leave.
'You should learn to mind your f**king business. '
I decide to turn back to say a few things I feel like I should get off my chest. She has already caused me embarrassment, I might as well go all the way to speak my mind.
'You know, your relationship is probably what you should throw away. But you won't. It probably helps to validate your sense of self esteem. It makes you feel like you are worth something, knowing a guy wants you in his life. But sorry girl, it doesn't work like that. And apparently, this relationship isn't truly helping you. '
'Is she still talking?'
'Favour calm down... You this babe sef, wetin be your wahala? You dey find trouble o.' Jay says.
'Leave her! She doesn't know me.'
I just roll my eyes and start walking away.
'You'll be sorry for even having the audacity to talk to me.' She shouts at me as I leave.
Some people are staring at us right now and I want the ground to open up and swallow me. I feel embarrassed. But I'm even more concerned about what she just said. Her little conversation with Jay has shown that she is definitely responsible for the StatsBlog post about Ellie. What could she possibly do to me? Should I be bothered? She even knows me. But then, it's not like I've engaged in anything controversial? I should be safe... Right?
