It's the thirtieth chapter 🎉🎉🎉. Thanks for reading so far guys. Now, here's a really long chapter.
'Etse, I don't understand what you are doing. Do you want to go there and fight with him or what?' Mary looks at me like I'm crazy. But I continue wearing my joggers anyway.
'You're not leaving this room o.' Dunni says.
'Dunni, don't try to stop me. I'm not in the mood for any unnecessary extra talk right now. Keep your mama bear behaviour for later.'
'Somebody that beat your friend. He's a finalist, and he beat a fresher. Shameless, immature person. He won't hesitate to handle you.' Deb says.
'Etse, stop being ridiculous. You can tell his brother to talk to him.' Onana says.
'Which brother? This isn't anyone else's business.' I say.
'It's not even your business!' Dunni yells.
'How isn't it my business?'
'How is it your business?' Mary asks, half yelling. I don't respond.
'Just don't come back here crying o. Nobody will answer you.' Dayo hisses.
'Etse, chill, what exactly do you want to go and do there? He's obviously not someone you can reason with. What do you want to say to him?' Vanessa asks.
'Why is everyone ignoring the fact that Rose is there?' Tife asks.
'Help me ask them.' I say as I throw my phone in my pocket. 'I'm out.'
'You're not going anywhere!' Dunni shouts.
'Is it Rose you're planning to go and rescue or what?' Mary asks.
'Why would Femi even ask you to go there? After he beat Marv, are you supposed to just go and carry her out or what?' Dayo says.
I don't even reply them. I just walk out of the room. I hear them shouting. Thankfully none of them come after me.
As I get to the gate I see Chioma alighting from a cab.
'Hey Etse.'
'Chioma, welcome. Sorry, I can't help with your bags, I'm going somewhere.'
I can see a surprised expression on her face. 'Where?'
'Agbowo.' I reply her. 'Bike! Gate!' I hop on the motorcycle and I'm off.
************************************
'Yes, who's it?' The voice replies me as I knock on the door. And of course, it's Rose's. I'm still shocked to know she's here. She didn't resume to her hostel, she came to settle here instead. I would never have associated this sort of behaviour with Rose.
'It's me, Etse.'
She opens the door and there's a surprised expression on her face. 'What are you doing here?'
'Can I come in?'
'No, you can't. You shouldn't be here.'
'Why shouldn't I be?'
She sighs. 'It's-- it's-- it's not safe for you.'
'Oh really? Where you live isn't safe for me. But I suppose it's safe for you.'
'Just go.'
'You have to tell me why your place of abode isn't safe. '
'Etse, don't be stubborn, just go.'
'Where is your boyfriend?'
'He's not here now.'
As if on cue, Brian walks right into the passage.
