Hey guys! I hope you're all doing good. Thanks for following the book so far. Do enjoy this chapter.
'Have you heard any of my songs?'
'Yeah, two, I got them from Rose. They're really good by the way.'
'Thanks. I hope you know those are the only two.'
'Oh really?'
'Yeah, and I've only ever produced two tracks too.'
'And you've blown... Well, at least in school.'
'No, I haven't. The only reason I'm known is because of my older siblings. They paved the way for us before we even got to school, you know. Many people haven't even heard my work, but they know what I do. Our siblings really publicized us, me, Charles and Christina.'
' Yeah, older siblings are the best. '
If Dami and Dolapo, my sisters, heard me saying this right now, I'll never be allowed to forget I ever said it. It will so get to their heads. But they really are the best big sisters I could ask for.' How many have you got? '
' Two. '
' A guy and a girl? '
' Nah, two girls. They're both in UI too.'
'Oh really? Cool. Speaking of sisters, did my sister get back to you guys on the dance crew stuff?'
Yes. She did text I and Rose to come audition last week and we did. And we were accepted into the crew. I totally forgot to mention it to Chris.
'Yes, yes, oh my God! I totally forgot to tell you.'
'It's okay. I'm glad you're a part--you--you guys, you and Rose.' He stutters in between his statement. He's so cute when stuttering. Wait, Etse! What's up with you?
'You--you know Lexxy is postponing his show that was supposed to be next week.''Why?'
'Things aren't falling into place.'
'So till when?'
'After exams. Last week in June.'
Alas! The word I dread. Exams. Why do you have to mention that word? Our first semester exams are actually starting at the end of this month. I know, it's weird that we're just finishing first semester by this time of the year. But, this is UI, affected by several strike actions over the years. We only just resumed this session mid-February, while other schools resumed between August and November last year. We've also already had a two-week Non-Academic Staff Union strike that crippled activities in school, and a one week Academic staff union strike which was just this week. We're even lucky that one week strike would not affect our calendar since lectures are already being rounded up. Let's just hope for a smooth second semester.
All that time we spent at home, between secondary school graduation and university resumption was when Chris got started on his music career. Other people alike used the time to learn skills and develop talents and stuff. But people like me, just stayed home all day watching movies. DON'T JUDGE ME.
'Um, Etse, would you like to hang out, sometime, like--like--go see a movie--like, um--Um, on a date, sometime?'
Is he asking me out on a date? Oh my God!!! Wait, so what happens next? Do I become his girlfriend after the date? Or do I have to wait for him to actually ask me to be his girlfriend? Or is there a number of dates that automatically turn you into a girlfriend? I don't know how these things work. Oh my goodness. My heart is beating fast. Okay, I shouldn't over think this.
'Erm, errr... Sure, sure, I'd - - I'd, um, love to. Yeah, I would... I think.'
'You think?'
'No, no, of course I'd love to.' Right now, I've got a huge smile on my face.
