Chapter Twenty-two: 'Abeg, Carry Your H-factor Out Of My Sight.'

I'm back in school now. Most of my roommates are back too. We're busy chatting about our break, you know, sharing our experiences and all.

'So, Rose, tell me, how are your chats with Marv?'
I don't know why, but I'm so eager to hear what she has to say about him.

Rose smiles 'well, fine. He's a cool guy.'

'Of course he is.'

'But, um, there's just someone...

' Don't tell me he has competition.' I toll my eyes.
'C'mon! Who could that be? '

Rose moves her thumb and index finger up to her lips and motions as if she's zipping up her lips.

'Ah. Issokay. ' The whole room choruses and Rose laughs.

'Hmm. It's fine.' I submit.

'Ehen, Etse, you said you saw Favour.' Onana starts. 'I didn't really understand what you said she said.'

'She said her broomstick will land here whenever I resume.'

'Broomstick?'

'Well, she didn't say broomstick, but, you know, just alluding to the fact that she's a witch.'

Onana and some others laugh.
'But what exactly does she...' Onana is cut short by the knock on the door.
'Who's there?'

'Favour.'

The statement "talk of the devil and he shall appear", has never been more truthful.

'Come inside.' I say.

Favour opens the door and walks right in, with one other girl I've seen around the hostel, following behind her. She stops at the centre of the room and folds her arms.
'Good afternoon o.' She greets us.
Nobody replies her.

I move from where I'm standing by my wardrobe to go and face her where she's standing.
'Good afternoon Favour.'

She smiles. 'I just decided to fulfill my promise, you know. Just stopped by to say hi.'

'Thanks.' I fold my arms too. 'How did you know I was back?'

She laughs and the mumu girl behind her laughs too.
I wonder what's funny.
'Are you seriously asking me that question?' She moves closer to me. 'Baby girl, I've got my eyes on you.'

'Noted. Now, leave and let this be the last time you step foot in this room.' Chioma speaks up. She must have noticed I was beginning to feel quite jittery.

'What?' Favour shoots Chioma a wicked glare. 'Sorry, what was that?'

'You're not welcome here.' Onana replies her.

Favour slaps her palms together dramatically.
'I came here peacefully. But you guys are obviously in the mood for trouble. Make una no vex me.'

'Carry your wahala and go, Favour.' Dunni says.

'Okay, I'm not going, push me out! Una go feel me for this place.'

'Favour, respect yourself and walk out. You can't intimidate anybody here. Who do you think you are? Who are you trying to bully?' Deb shoots.

'It's nice how your friends are fighting for you, cos you know you dare not talk to me anyhow.' Favour says to me.

'What will you do?' Chioma gets down from her top bunk. 'Carry your minion and get out now.' She orders.

'Who are you calling minion?' The minion finally speaks up, with confirm H-factor.

'Both of you should leave right now.' Rose says.
