'So she didn't sleep in the here last night.' I ask, surprised, folding my arms and resting my back against the door. I'm trying to make sense of everything they're telling me.
'No she did not.' Onana replies me.
'And you guys didn't bother to ask her where she went?' I ask, almost shouting.
'She went to see her friend at Agbowo na.' Dunni says.
'Which friend?'
'Who knows?'
'So where did she go to now?'
'The same Agbowo.'
'I don't understand why you guys are just calm about this.'
'Wetin you want make we do?' Onana slaps this back of her right hand on her left palm.
'Deb!'
'Don't ask me anything o. Cos I don't know.' Deb answers sharply.
This is really unlike Rose. Why would she go out without stating where exactly she's going to? And who is her friend in Agbowo that she's so close to, that she can freely spend the night there? Even Deb, doesn't know her whereabouts. Now this is past eight and she isn't back. I'm not really bothered about the time anyway, but by the fact that we do not know her exact whereabouts.
'Guys!' Dedun calls us as she pushes the door, hitting me in the process.
'Girl na. I'm behind the door.'
It actually hurt.I step away from the door and go over to my bed while Dedun comes in. She's looking all dressed up.
Dunni rolls her eyes as Dedun walks in.
'What's up o. My people. I've missed you guys.' She says with a wide smile on her face.
We all exchange glances, as if we're all wondering who she's missing.
This babe sha.'Is that so?' Dunni shoots.
'Yes o, namesake. How are you? Long time. ' Dedun asks Dunni.
'I'm fine.'
'Ahan, you guys did not even bother to attend the pre-exam party at Rouxa.'
'They threw another pre-exam party?' I'm quite surprised, after all, this is the University of Ibadan. So much partying when exams are already here sounds odd.
'We've told you we're not party people.' Onana says.
'I hear.' Dedun nods.
The look on Dunni's face, on hearing that response from Dedun is priceless. Babe is vexed.
'Well,' Dedun continues, 'if all of you here now are not party people. Rose is sha a party person.'
I roll my eyes at that. Rose of all people.'Which Rose?' Tife asks.
'The Rose that is at Rouxa right now.'
This response takes us all by surprise. The look Dedun gives after shows that she can see we are all surprised. Of course, our looks gave us away.
'Looks like someone did not tell you where she was going.''I see you're just coming from Rouxa yourself.' Deb says.
'Yes o. I can't lie. I went to enjoy for the last time before exams.'
So that's why she's looking all dressed up.
'Where are the others sef?'
For a brief moment, no one replies her.'Some haven't resumed and Mary went out to get something.' I reply out of obligation
'Alright. Let me get to my room.' Yes, it's about time.
'Goodnight guys.'
