I waved my parents off, hugging them dearly. "See you very soon," I smiled.
"Definitely," mother agreed. I grinned. As the boat left, I decided to ring Belle.
"Oh hi, Elsie!" she said.
"Hey!"
"What's up?"
"Well, my parents just left on the boat..."
"OK. Well, actually, I'm here with Jack Frost right now," she lowers her voice. "He's not that happy, for some reason."
"Oh no. I am not going to cheer that beast up." It felt bad to say this - he wasn't too mean. But I knew what people would say if I cheered him up - that I was his girlfriend. "Maybe another time." We said our goodbyes and I sat in silence, thinking about everything that was happening in my life.
"Elsa? Would you like me to drop you off at your home?" my sister asked, tossing her ginger curls.
"Anna, you are 15!" I sighed at her. My sister seemed to be making a habit of forgetting how young she actually was.
"Nearly 16, may I remind you! And I really meant would you like Kristoff to drop you off, didn't I sweetie?" Anna put her arm around him and he nodded, giving me a look that I knew meant, 'you had better accept it'. So, without any choice, I quietly thanked my sister and Kristoff and throughout the whole drive, I had to listen to Anna talking about her wonderful boyfriend and everything fantastic about her life.
*************
When I arrived home, which seemed like hours later, I looked on my phone at text messages people had sent me in the past. I soon fell asleep because the day had been very tiring. I awoke at the sound of a knock on my door, and I opened it to find Anna, Kristoff and a man that I did not recognise.
"Elsa, this is William. William has some news for all 3 of us, but he wanted to tell us together."
"Well, come in, all of you," I replied, realising that I wouldn't be able to catch a nap today. "What is it, er, William?"
"I have news of your parents."
"Tell us, then!" I muttered, fearing the worst.
"I am so sorry, Miss Anna and Miss Elsa! News has arrived that the boat your parents left on... was caught in a storm. It had no chance. The ship has sunken."
"A-and mother, and father? What happened to them? A-are they..."
"As I said, it had no chance. Everything went underwater. Your parents drowned, Miss Elsa."
"Well, what a shame," Anna suddenly said, and I stared at her. How could she be so thoughtless? "What? You are looking at me as if you have seen a ghost."
"This man is saying that our parents - our is the key word here - drowned! And all you say is 'what a shame'?! Do you not understand the meaning of that word?!" I shouted, shocked at my sister's behaviour.
"All good things come to an end!" Anna retaliated, sticking her tongue out at me.
"I am ashamed of you! You are becoming such a mean person, and it is all your boyfriend Kristoff's fault!" I suddenly realise that I'll never see my parents again. What was I suppose to do now?
