Ch. 4: Date

Shailene POV:

I wake up the next morning. I go to my bathroom and take a long shower, then get out. I put on a Pink Sleeveless Button Down Shirt with Skull Women, dark denim skinny jeans, and my black high tops. I brush my hair and then walk out with my purse. I bump into Theo as I walk out.

"Hi." I say.

"Hey." He replies.

He grabs my hand and we walk down the hall together and into the elevator.

"So, I was thinking after the set, you would come with me to carnival?"

"Theo James, are you asking me on a date?" I ask smiling.

"Maybe." He says smirking.

"Oh Theo. Yes, of course I will come with you."

He smiles and I return it.

"Theooooo. Take can I take off the blindfold now?" I ask.

We have been at the carnival for 6 hours and now Theo had put a blindfold on me.

"Just wait a second Shailene." Theo says.

I sigh.

He guides me to wherever. Then takes off my blindfold.

I gasp at the view.

We are on a building in a private area.

It's decorated with various flowers and has a view of the city.

I look back at Theo and he is grinning.

"I thought you might like it." He says.

"It's beautiful." I say. "Absolutely breath-taking."

Theo mumbles something and smiles. I don't bother to ask him I just keep gaping at the view.

The wind blows and I shiver. Theo takes off his jacket and wraps it around me.

"Thank you." I say.

We stare at the view, talking and laughing, exchanging dirty jokes.

We go back to the hotel. Theo stops me at my door.

"Shailene. I like you. A lot."

I leave a moment in between.

"Theo, I really like you too. It's just I can't right now." I say.

"Why?"

"Theo. It's just...It's just complicated right now."

He nods and turns around.

"Theo, please don't be upset. I'm just..." I plead. "Confused."

"Good night, Shailene." He says and walks to his room. 

I walk into my room and begin to cry. 

I am crying over some stupid guy I just met. 

He is not some stupid guy, it's Theo.
