"Out of the way!"

"Pidge/Katie!"

A laughter rung throughout her ears, cancelling out the shouts of voices she couldn't recognize yet. Her glimmering golden eyes seemed to fog with confusion. Searching for answers and causing twinges of pain to spark.

Where am I?

She felt like veils of cotton layered over her tongue and around her brain. The nerves in her body weakly sending signals but the numbness vibrated her body, as if her mind was awake but her external figure failed to catch up. Her wrists hurt and her location was unknown, she could define at least that.

Her eyes wandered upwards, away from her feet, and saw violet lighting. Nothing more than a harsh purple, close to fuchsia yet still its own hue. There was a closed door and it was then when she tried to walk towards it did she realize she was shackled to a presumable wall.

In an uncomfortable position, nonetheless, her arms hung over her head and feet wrapped with something similar to cord. Her mind began to tire and she closed her eyes for a few seconds. Feeling herself fall into a void, like walking on water, it was unfamiliar and lightweight as she stepped on seemingly hollow grounding. She looked around, shadows of people she couldn't name, but somehow knew, were standing in uneven placements.

Her attention drew too quickly to a tall shadow in the middle of her mindless walk. Unlike the other figures, this one broke from its position and began to beckon her to follow. With little energy she trudged through the ground, it seemingly got harder to walk but the difficulty was short lasting as she and the shadow made it to a destination.

Why is it so bright? Who are they?

There were two people, one carrying a crying infant, the people were presumably related edging on father and daughter. One looking far too young to be a wife and both shared dark skin that looked similar to rich soil and dual-hued eyes that marbled between pink and crystal blue.

"Allura, this is the last child we could find. Launch the escape pods." The man said, white facial hair brushing against the pale skinned child's happy expression.

The child was like any other infant. With a round face and stout body. Chunky, short fingers reaching out to the older girl as they were passed. The baby had two olive green fletch marks on the corners of her cheeks. Short caramel locks curled wildly, and honey comb eyes shone through even the dimmest of lightings.

"What are their names? Who will find them?"

"I know not their future locations but their names are chipped into them. One day, if they or our planet have hope to survive, you will know. Go! We have to put you in one of the pods next."

"Yes, father!" The girl replied obediently.

She placed the baby in a singular orb, likely the escape pod. Alongside the orb were other identical ones to it. The young lady typed in a code of sorts on a holographic keypad. The sphere shaped machines proceeded to lift off the ground and through an open passage that lead to the blank, open galaxy.

Suddenly, she found herself walking on air, the shadow figure disappearing. She woke up once more, back in the violet lighting of the cold room. Her eyes stung from straining them to see in such dim lighting and she felt waves of nausea begin to flow, luckily she contained it but she felt the lingering taste of bitter mixtures.

The door opened, the physique of a man stood out with an almost golden aura. His face was handsome and she didn't withhold the urge to smile at this stranger. With a sharp angular face, he looked surprised and she could see a hint of his lilac skin tint rose. Somehow, words slipped her tongue and her forced facial expression and thoughts did not feel anything but hatred and anger for the divine creature before her.

"My name is Pidge Gunderson, I'm a paladin of Voltron. Let me go, Lotor."

Lotor? Is that their name?

"You're beautiful."
