Samuel Holt never believed in deities, why believe in something higher than science? He settled his heart to agree on whatever Colleen would say though and she was a devout catholic, never missed a day of the practices. So Sam never argued and decided to identify himself with her religion. He raised his children with the belief system and they would ask for help to whatever hung above them. It gave them hope, who was he to take it away? Nevertheless, the idea of a higher power seemed ridiculous considering the lack of divine intervention in his life lately.
Now that he was hurtling towards Earth, God seemed very easy to pray to.
Sam doesn't remember how he ended up bound to the seat. He could only look down at his impending doom. He could only hear the robotic voice ordering him to announce the words to an audience.
His body began to face a brief second of intense heat as he reentered the atmosphere. A wave of nausea was withheld and he could hardly open his eyes as he stared down at the view. The ground gradually became closer.
Crash.

"My liege, facing humans like this will eventually provoke us to harm them. Their civilization will suffer greatly. Are you sure this will work?"
"She loves Earth, I'm sure she will come to their call."
Lotor leaned back in the throne. His eyes glazed in thought, remembering the woman he fell too hard for. The half-Galra recalled how she talked so endearingly about the planet. The way her eyes saddened when she told him about her family and school life.
It hurt to remember her.
She was a beautiful woman who loved and ugly man. He just prayed to the deities that his efforts would draw her home.

A terrifying feeling had filled him when he saw her head lull back, reminding him of the corpse he found on the ground only months before. The way it couldn't support its own weight in his arms. He had to assure himself she was safe to keep himself sane, for now he would work harder to protect her.
He had been dueling a hologram when the Red Paladin entered the training room. A disappointed expression coloring his face. Steel hued eyes glaring with inspection, closely peeling away the armor Shiro held up.
"What about Adam?"
The quiet words forced Voltron's leader to drop his weapon. He paused the simulation to stare at his close friend, one he considered family. Keith was the only person to ever know about his former lover, to know what Shiro had left behind. How Shiro had given up life on earth for his dream.
"You know what happened."
"I thought you loved him."
"Keith, stop it."
"Go back to him."
"Keith-"
"Just let go of Katie!"
Takashi stilled at the words before huffing in exasperation. The conversation's roots sprung from the first woman he valued more than life itself. The Garrison runaway, the interstellar enigma he had pictured his future with.
"Tell me why you're acting like this." Shiro said quietly as he walked closer to his teammate.
"Did you ever tell her?"
"She doesn't need to know."
"I'm sure she'd like to hear about your fiancé. She'd be fucked up to know that you leave people like that. I bet she would hate y-"
"I told you to stop!"
The younger man scoffed at the threatening glow of Takashi's mechanical arm. The inorganic limb was terrifying to any foe, and in a way Keith felt lowly. He further invaded the personal boundaries that the Black Paladin had created.
"Fuck. You."
"You don't get to tell me anything, you have no right. Know your place, because I gave it to you." Shiro seethed and harshly bumped his shoulder against Keith's as he walked out.
