JULIA'S POV

The next day arrived very quickly and I was soon on my way to school with Melissa. We used her husband's car this time, he had no work on that day. Even though we slept later last night, I didn't feel very tired, perhaps it was because of the coffee that I drank that morning.

"And it's all fun and games til somebody falls in love, bought a ticket and there's no turning back now", I sang along with the lyrics that were blaring out of the radio.

"Julia, calm down, the people can see you, you know?", my friend laughed at me.

Upon hearing her words, I felt my face turn red and become hot and all that I did was nod at her.

We spent the rest of the ride just gossiping about people.

"Okay, we are here!", Melissa said excitedly.

As soon as we got of the car, we both went through different entrances (something about she must go to her class and that entrance gets her there faster). I went straight up to the teachers lounge wanting to get my stuff out of the locker there.

On my way over there, I passed by many of the students that I teach who all smiled and greeted me. I loved the feeling of taking care of students but there are just some kids who are hard to tolerate with and who just annoy me.

When I finally got to the teachers lounge, I noticed that not all teachers were there and I honestly didn't care at that moment since I had a task on mind, getting my notes and stuff.

As I was searching for my stuff in my locker, I heard a knock on the door, so I went over to the door and opened it with a big smile on my face assuming that there was a student standing on the other side.

Turns out I was wrong.

My smile fell from my face as I realized that the person standing there was none other than Brittney herself, my ex-best friend.

"Good morning! I have brought breakfast for Ken, he seemed to have forgotten it, can you give it to him?", she said, typing something on her phone with her right hand and holding out the bag of food towards me with her left hand, not even looking at me.

"Yeah, ok, I'll give it to him", I said dryly.

She immediately looked up from her phone when she heated my voice.

"Julia?! What are you doing here?!", she was  shocked.

"I am not really sure, I work here, maybe?", I replied sarcastically.

"Did you follow Ken here or something?! You slut! Where is Ken?!", she practically screamed at me.

I ignored her remark and said calmly, "Well, I don't know where he is, I am not his nanny"

As she was ready to shout at me some more, she stopped as she saw Ken turning around the corner to get into the room.

"Could you please explain this to me, Ken?! Why is this bitch here?! And more importantly, why haven't you told me that she is here?!", she shouted at him.

Ken grabbed her arm and pulled her inside the room as saw that students were starting to come to see what's happening. I followed them suit, wanting to get my stuff and get out of there immediately.

"Brittney, can we please talk about this later. It's is not the right time and place", he said calmly.

"No, Ken! I know why you don't want us to talk right now, it's because you want to talk to her first! Because she is your first for everything!", Brittney said.

"Brittney, what are you talking about, darling, Julia is not as important to me as you are, she is nothing to me and of course you are my first and only choice not her", Ken said to her.

She is nothing to me.

Nothing to me.

Nothing.

My heart was aching and I couldn't stand standing and hearing more so I just ran out of the room, I didn't even to get my stuff, I just ran to my next class.

You hate him, yet you still have feelings for him. It's actually funny. Even after what he just said about you, you still like him, don't you?

I shook my head at my thoughts. I just wanted to forget about what everything, forget about Ken.

I avoided everyone for the rest of the day, even Melissa, and I didn't teach properly that day since my thoughts were all about Ken. I just couldn't stop thinking about him and I hated that I got distracted by him with my thoughts.

When the bell finally rang, I quickly dismissed my students and ran to the teacher's lounge before anyone else got there to get my stuff. As soon as I got my stuff, I ran to catch the next tram quickly, not wanting to spend another minute in the building.

As soon as I got home, I went straight to my bedroom and threw my bag and phone onto the bed. I then removed and threw my caught on top of them and went to the bathroom and washed away my makeup aggressively.

"Julia, get a handful of yourself!", I told myself repeatedly as I wiped away my makeup.

When I finished cleaning up, I walked towards the kitchen, knowing exactly what would help me forget.

I opened my mini bar and took some whiskey out. I opened it and poured a mug full.

"Fuck you, Ken", I said, chugging it all at once.
