JULIA'S POV
When I arrived at Melissa's house, I rang the bell and Carl, her husband, opened the door and behind him stood their daughter, Emma. "Hey, guys", they both nodded and let me in the house.
Even they are sad... what's going on?
I saw my friend as soon as I entered the house. She was sitting on the sofa with tear stains on her cheek. I quickly went to sit beside her, "Melissa! What happened?! Why are you crying?", I hugged her as tightly as I could.
I hate to see people I love suffer, to see her suffer!
Carl and Emma stood close to us, I looked up towards Carl as if asking 'What happened?' but he just shook his head, 'Let her tell you'.
I took his advice and waited for my friend to calm down as I rubbed her back.
It took some while, but at that moment all that mattered was Melissa, she calmed down so I took the chance to ask her again.
"What's wrong?", I looked at her face but she was looking at her hands.
I looked at her hands and then looked at her face and then at her hands again.
She opened her hands and revealed a stick.
A pregnancy test?
I looked at her face, trying to understand what is she trying to say.
She kept quiet and raised the stick towards my face, I looked at it.

The result was positive.
I looked at her face and she was looking at me, waiting for my reaction.
"I am having a child", she broke down again.
---------------------------
I didn't understand her sadness at first. She was having another child. She loves and wants children, then why is she crying.
I kinda envy her sometimes, she has everything I've ever wished for, a caring husband, a lovely house, and beautiful kids. Some might think that I am jealous and I truly am, I don't hide it.
I looked at Carl, trying to think of what to say to her, he sat on the other sofa with Emma sleeping on him, he looked stressed out.
I'll hide it from her today.
I turned to look at her, "Well that's great news! I hope I'll be their godmother!", I giggled a bit.
Melissa just shook her head, "No, you don't understand, I don't know what I'll be able to do!", she hiccuped, "I- this baby- I am not sure if we can support this baby, Julia!"
I kept on listening to her, "Our finances are not doing well right now, I don't know how we are going to manage another baby! And I have to leave the school after a couple of months for the baby and that won't be good for us financially, but I don't want to stop working, Julia, I am attached to the school and my students, I can't leave them!", she started crying again.
I held both her hands in mine with the pregnancy test on her palms, "Lissa, look, it's all going to be fine. You are not going through this alone, you have me, Carl, Emma and even the school. I understand how you are going to miss the school terribly but you are coming back so don't worry and don't worry about the money too, I can help you financially, ok?", I comforted her.
She nodded her head and then shook it, "I don't know, Juls, I understand you but the thing is that I am very scared"
"Don't worry. we'll get through this together", I hugged her.
I broke off the bud first to look at Carl and he was standing up, carrying Emma in his arms, heading towards her bedroom, he nodded at me and mouthed, 'Thank you', I mouthed, 'You're welcome' back at him.
Melissa went to ken as her husband and daughter goodnight and then she turned back to me and asked, "Would you like to spend the night here?", she looked at me with her wide puppy eyes and pouted her mouth a bit to resemble a puppy.
I sighed, "How could I say no to that face?"
"Yay! I love you! Don't worry about the pajamas, I'll lend you one of mine", she said happily.
Well, at least I got her to smile.
---------------------------
The evening went well, we forgot about all of our worries and gossiped and talked for hours.
"Oh, and do you know Melanie? She attends my class.I thought that she was selfish and unkind but I got to teach her and she is pretty good. She talked to me about her problems and troubles and I feel honestly kinda sad that something so bad had happened to her. She doesn't deserve anything bad", Melissa said.
"Melanie? I don't know her that much so I don't have an opinion on her. But you know who's good in my class, Joy. I teach both her and her sister and they both are very kind and hardworking", I said.
"Ah! Joy and her sister! I don't know them that well but they seem good", she told me, yawning.
"It's getting late, Juls, let's end our conversation and go to sleep, ok?", she said.
"Yeah, sure, I wouldn't want to look like a zombie tomorrow so I'll go to sleep", I answered.
"You're right!", she laughed at my answer as she made laid down on the mattress on the floor.
I followed her actions and got comfortable on the mattress. "Good night, Lisa"
"Good night, Juls"
