"Excuse me?" "We're here!" Avery yelled toward us. "No." Mason laughed. "Finally! I get this Infiltrator away from me!" He grabbed me. "Let me go, Mason!" I yelled at him. "Heh. I quote you: no." His hands were tight around my arms. I couldn't free myself from the harsh grip of his hands. "Help me, Avery!" Mason jumped off the wagon with me. My head hit the dirty, dusty floor of the pathway. I coughed. "I'm sorry," he said. I gave her a stern face. "I can't get on my father or the Gas Masks bad side." Mason dragged me with all his might. I stared at him in disbelief. How could he give up on the only true friend he had? Or was I the only true friend? "Are we even friends? Avery." He shrugged. "I suppose... no."
I gasped. How could she say such a thing to me? We were friends and I know it! A tear dripped down his face. "Get over it, Avery. No one cares about your whiny ass! You know the reason you came here! It was because of Emily and now he doesn't care about you. Your only friend is thin air now." He tilted his head down slowly. I could hear him trying to keep the tears in. "Emily, Beatrix, and Avery. You all are now enemies to the Gas Masks." I coughed again trying to grasp my breath. "We're here!" He opened the door then chucked me in. "Guards! Take her from here!"
I turned around when I heard the door creaking to its original position. The guards were in thick black coats with red helmets covering their faces. One grabbed me and threw me on the wall. "Ugh!" I yelled as my body slammed into the stone wall. He walked over to the part of the wall where I was bent over and catching my breath. He grabbed my arms and said "look. Turn around." I turned around and there were 2 different areas of chains, both chains exactly the same. At the end were metal and all of the chains in one area combined could hold both legs, both arms, and a mouth. Right next to the chains where I was going, I saw Emily. About 5 feet away to the left I saw her with tears dripping down onto the metal. "Go on," the guard said. "What?" I said as I turned around to look at him. "Put yourself in there right now." I couldn't resist. I would have died because of the gun that they had in their back pocket. I put myself in the metal and waited for further instructions.
"Hello there!" The women took off her mask to reveal a teenager wearing a lot of makeup. Her thick blonde hair dripped down her back as the mask was torn from her face. I smiled sarcastically. "Looks like you're going to have fun here! My name is Abi and I'll be your guard! The other one that appeared is Yosef! He's a very nice guy once you get past the fact that he's insane and drugs his child!" My mouth shot down. "Who's his child?" Abi was way too cheerful about this while I was terrified. "Have you seen Avery around? She's a Gas Mask! Have you-" "Yes, I know who she is." My face turned from a sarcastic grin to stern, blank facial expression. "You get food once a day at 2 in the morning and you get to be freed from hours- wait. You don't get to be free ever! What a small mistake I made!" She laughed. I could genuinely tell she wasn't being sarcastic about this. "Thank for the 'great' rules, Abi!" I said. "No problem! See you at 2!" She skipped off and out of the room. I turned toward Emily who was already staring at me with her black and red bloodshot eyes. "Are you ok?" I asked Emily. "No. I clearly am not. I'm now in the execution room for god sake!" I nodded. "I suppose so. Have you though of ways to esca-" "SHH!" My eyes widened. "What happened?"
"You see Yosef over there? He watches us 24/7." I turned toward him and saw the red mask. "Hello. Your first realizing that I'm over here? Great. Let's be friends. Let me introduce myself." He walked over here and took off his mask. "Hello. I'm Yosef Luger, father to Avery." Emily made a scared smile and said "hello Yosef. Good to see you again." He finally smiled. His mouth was longer than I ever have seen before. His smile stopped at the top of his nose. I gasped. "Are you scared kid?" My eyes widened. "No... not at all..." He came closer to my face. "Yes you are." He spit on my face as he spoke. I was terrified. "You deserve this." He turned the chain for the mouth over my face. "That's better." He said as he turned around the room was filled with my muffled screams.
