I swallowed hard trying to pass that little piece of cookie down my throat, when I did it I let a cough scape my mouth.
Sharon suddenly was next to me.
"Dawn, are you alright?" I tried to speak but I couldn't, it was like my throat was closed.
"I'll get you water, wait a sec." she ran to the kitchen and filled a glass with water.
She came to me and gave me the glass, which I drank right away.
"Better?" she inquired worried.
"Yes, thanks." I left the glass in the counter.
"That's what happens when you eat like an animal, Beast." I laughed to that nickname we've been telling eachother since I can remember.
"But that's because you made me fly to the other side of the world to see you." I replied laughing.
She sat next to me, taking that last piece of cookie from my hand, and running away from me.
"Hey!" I yelled.
"There's pizza in the fridge, and I think it can do better than a cookie."
"I'm more sleepy than hungry, so you better take me eating tomorrow." I smiled, "mmm... Sharon" I mumbled shyly playing with my own fingers, "is Ashton your boyfriend?" I finally asked.
"And what I love the most." she sighed dreamingly.
"And why you missy haven't told me yet?" I wanted to know, she never kept secrets from me.
"Because I've been dating him for a month only," she looked away from me, obviously guilty, she knew what I was thinking.
"A month?!, but our last phone call was yesterday!" I snapped.
"You're right.. But I wanted you give you a surprise." she shrugged.
"And you did it, but I thought that after what happened with you and Max you woul.." I stopped myself from finishing the sentence, but I knew she understood what I meant.
"I thought that too, it's like you didn't know the reason why I left, but now I know Ashton and I love him."
"Really?... But you've been dating him only for a month, how well do you know him," I was shocked.
"Well enough Dawn, and I thought you would be happy for me." she looked at me blankly.
"And I am." I really was, but there also was something moving inside of me, something that confused me, that kind of confusion you get when things change overnight, and you can't explain how, "I'm happy that you moved on, you're an example for me." I said.
"What do you mean?.. Are you still in love with Al?" she took a step back, looking at me with her blue eyes opened like soup bowls.
"Not at all!, that's completely over, what I'm referring to is my parents, you're not stuck in the past like I am with my parents death." I chocked on those last words.
"Oh, Dawn, but that was three years ago, one you are a 22 year old professional photographer, with a lot to live." she gave me a quick hug "now, lets talk about something less depressive, is there someone special?"
I smiled at her curiosity, but along with that smile the memory of Ashton Irwin came suddenly into my mind, but it left as fast as it came.
"That's weird..."
"What?, Who did you meet?" that's when I realised I said that loud enough for Sharon to listen.
"Mmm... Ahh..." I mumbled unable to say a word.
