"N-no..." I lied, I didn't want him I was a coward, which I really was at the moment.
He laughed again.
"C'mon Dawn, these things are safe," he stretched his hand out for me, and the warm feeling of his hand was something I could never reject.
He took my hand, holding it tight, making me feel safe, evaporating that childish fear away from me so fast, I didn't even remember I felt it in the first place.
I got on the gondola, and he sat next to me, and three more people in front of us, the gondoler started rowing, and the little ship started moving across the water, I shuddered a little.
Ashton looked at me with genuine worry in his hazel eyes, that sparkled with tenderness.
"Are you alright?" he asked in a sweet tone.
"Perfectly." I muttered stunned.
I looked up feeling better than seconds ago, facing the greyish sky, I then looked at my sides admiring the old buildings around me, I heard the people in front of us but I couldn't understand a thing since the were spoking a different language.
"You know why this place is called The Bridge Of Sighs?" Ashton asked interrupting my thoughts about the new environment I was in.
"No, why?"
"Well, this bridge connects The Ducal Palace with The Old Inquisition Prison, and it gives access to the palace's dungeons, and the prisoners watched the sky and the sea for the last time and sighed," he explained.
"Not romantic at all." I laughed quietly.
"I know, but people throughout the time has created a certain fame that has inspired poets in their literature gender."
I laughed again, astonished for his explanation.
"Why are you laughing about?" he glared at
"It's just that you looked like a college teacher for like 5 seconds, making me feel like your alumna," I shrugged.
"Perché in questo caso sono felice di essere il vostro insegnante." he winked at me.
I didn't know what he said, but the sound of his incredibly amazing Italian accent made me blush.
"Goddammit I really need to learn Italian!" I muttered to myself, "what did you just say?"
"What I said was: "If this Is the case I would be happy to be your teacher", and of course I can teach you Italian if you want to," he smiled at me.
"I'd like to, thanks." I said hiding the blush in my cheeks placing casually my hands in them.
Ashton was the human Australian representation of an Adonis, so why he was terribly charming too?.
I took my camera, to capture the moment and the baroque buildings around me, but accidentally the face next to me was also captured.
When we set feet on earth, my stomach roared furiously, remembering I hadn't eaten anything yet, I wrapped my arms around my belly begging it to stop.
"Are you hungry?" he asked coming closer to me.
I nodded completely ashamed for being discovered.
"I know a great restaurant where we can go," he said excited making me follow him.
I turned back to his car, but he read my facial expressions again.
"It's no so far from here Dawn, we can get there walking." he gave me a huge smile which wrapped an invisible rope around my body dragging me behind him.
I hurried a little and I reached his side.
I felt dumb; he looked like a model with that style of his, and I like an ordinary girl; but it didn't stop me from keep walking, I was considering it like a privilege but I didn't know why.
