Justin’s POV

On that day, the twelfth day, I stayed at the hospital almost the entire day. I had woken up early to go home to get the kids ready for school, but as soon as they were gone I hurried back to the hospital.

It was probably our last full day together. By tomorrow, everyone would be in and out of the hospital wanting to say their last goodbyes.

Since I didn’t want the kids to have to deal with anyone else, I decided to have Selena bring them to say goodbye today so they could have a few days to cope.

Because, the day after tomorrow would be day fourteen. The doctors would come in and remove all of the tubing and wiring. They told me she would probably continue to live for a couple of minutes to a couple of hours, but eventually her heart would stop.

I tried to prepare myself for what that would be like. But I couldn’t. Even though she’d been practically gone for the last two weeks, she was still there physically. To actually have her gone was going to be unbearable.

Selena’s POV

“Hey guys, do you want to go see your Mommy?” I asked as I picked up the Bieber kids from school. Nick had come to get Asher and Emory, since Justin had asked me to be at the hospital with him this afternoon.

“No.” They all shook their heads. The hospital hadn’t been the most kid friendly environment. The sight of their mom attached to all of the machines scared them, so they tended to sit in the waiting room, where they got bored quickly.

“Your dad is waiting for us at the hospital. He needs to talk to you guys.”

“I don’t want to go.” They all pleaded simultaneously.

“It won’t be that bad.” I sighed, knowing it would be worse than they could imagine.

Justin’s POV

When Selena and the kids got there I sat them down in the usual waiting room, which was completely empty.

“So you know how Mommy has been asleep for a while?” I told them, trying to make it as simple and as straightforward as possible.

            They all nodded.

“Well, Mommy isn’t going to wake up. And in a couple of days she’s going to be gone.”

“What do you mean, gone?” Aria stared at me, waiting for me to reply.

“She’s going to die!” Stella yelled before I could answer and ran towards the elevator.

“I’ve got her. You stay here.” Selena ran after her.

I looked back at the other three who were staring at me, waiting for me to say something.

“Mommy is going to die.” I nodded. I let them all three take it in. Aria climbed into my lap. Kingston was crying. Aniston was biting her tongue in efforts to not cry.

“I wanted you to come so you can say goodbye. Even though she’s asleep, she can still hear you. You can go in by yourselves, or I can go in with you. We can do this however you want.”

“I want to go in by myself.” Aniston nodded, getting up. I watched her walk into the room and shut the door behind her. Aria and Kingston just cried as we sat in the waiting room.
