Madelyn's POV

Things only seemed to get worse between Justin and I as the week continued. He had made up excuses every single night as to why he needed to go to bed early or late, but never as the same time as me. I found him asleep on the couch on Friday night. It was almost one, and I had woken up without him in bed. I wandered downstairs to see what he was doing.

"Is the thought of sleeping with me, and I mean just sleeping, really that horrible?" I asked him honestly. He had said he was going to be reading a script, and that's why he wasn't coming to bed, but I didn't even see a script in sight.

"No, I," he sprung awake and scrambled to come up with an excuse. "I just,"

"You're avoiding me, Justin. Instead of being honest and talking to me about how you feel, you’re running in the other direction whenever I walk into the room.”

“Madelyn,” He started to say. I knew anything that started with my full name was just leading into a fight.

“I can’t fight with you tonight.” I walked into the kitchen to get some juice. With all the stress in my life lately, my blood sugars had been even more unstable than normal.

“Alright, cool. Come in here and yell at me for avoiding you, and then leave! Avoid me, Madelyn! I don’t care!” He was yelling.

“Justin! Shut up!” I said harshly in a low voice. But it was too late.

“Mommy?” I heard Aniston open her door.

“You can sleep down here.” I muttered as I walked up to bed. Aniston was half asleep as she wandered through the hallway.

“Why was Daddy yelling?” She yawned.

“He’s just upset and tired. Don’t worry about him.” I picked her up and carried her to bed with me. I hated sleeping alone, especially on nights that Justin and I were fighting.

“Why is he mad at you, Mom? How come you guys aren’t in love anymore?”

“Hey,” I knew that she had been talking to Stella. “We are in love. It’s just hard to be in love sometimes. You’ll understand someday. Go to sleep.”

Justin’s POV

I tossed and turned the whole night. I felt bad about yelling at Madelyn, but I was so frustrated I couldn’t help it. I had been frustrated all week, but tonight had just put me over the edge.

I was woken up at eight on Saturday morning when Madelyn started vacuuming the living room.

“Madelyn!” I yelled, trying to get away from the noise.

“Go upstairs if you want to sleep! I have to clean the house before everyone gets here!”

“Damn it! All I want is to sleep peacefully! For just one night! But it seems like your only goal is to make my life a living hell!” I got up and went upstairs to find Aniston in our bed. Not wanting to wake her, I carefully got under the covers and went back to sleep.

Madelyn’s POV

I was just finishing cleaning the house when Selena arrived to help.

“Maddie, if you clean that table any harder you might break it.” She laughed. I turned around to greet her, only to see her hands full of bags and bags of crafts and decorations she had made. “Justin problems?” She asked as she started setting up the dessert table.

         “Yeah. He’s just frustrating.”

“No sex?” She was practically the third person in our relationship. I always ranted to her. She knew every problem we’d ever had.
